Abstract: The invention relates to improved finger hole construction for lifting a two cell box. The divider in the box is formed by two abutting vertical panels and finger holes are respectively cut from side walls integrally formed with each said panel and in vertically aligned relationship, the horizontal width of the finger holes being limited to accommodate only two adult fingers so that the insertion of four fingers into the two aligned holes results in a division of the lifting force between the two side walls and tearing is resisted by the close proximity of the integral vertical panels to the point of application of the lifting force.

Abstract: This invention provides an easily erected tray structure for produce and the like, featuring construction from a single corrugated blank which is preglued and folded in a flat configuration, and which incorporates at its opposite ends and intermediate thereof interlocking projections providing improved stackability and improved structural integrity during shipment and display usage. A method for producing the tray includes prefolding a blank into a flat configuration and pregluing pairs of panels together, prior to final erection of the box.

Abstract: A reinforced form-fitting shipping container from a single blank of generally rectangular outline and particularly suited for the shipping and storing of upholstered furniture. As used for upholstered chairs of the type having a relatively low seat and a backrest, the container comprises an intermediate horizontal wall overlying a front portion of the chair, a horizontal top wall extending over the top of the backrest, and an inclined upper front wall extending between the intermediate horizontal wall and top wall. The container is reinforced at areas of increased stress by integral reinforcing elements providing a multi-ply construction of the inclined upper front wall and preferably also of the intermediate horizontal wall and top wall. In the preferred embodiments, the inclined upper front wall is reinforced and stabilized by overlapping scored and folded portions formed thereunder and extending from a pair of sidewalls.
