Publication number: 20240076688Abstract: Compositions and methods for controlling pests are provided. The methods involve transforming organisms with a nucleic acid sequence encoding an insecticidal protein. In particular, the nucleic acid sequences are useful for preparing plants and microorganisms that possess insecticidal activity. Thus, transformed bacteria, plants, plant cells, plant tissues and seeds are provided. Compositions are insecticidal nucleic acids and proteins of bacterial species. The sequences find use in the construction of expression vectors for subsequent transformation into organisms of interest including plants, as probes for the isolation of other homologous (or partially homologous) genes. The pesticidal proteins find use in controlling, inhibiting growth or killing Lepidopteran, Coleopteran, Dipteran, fungal, Hemipteran and nematode pest populations and for producing compositions with insecticidal activity.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 17, 2023Publication date: March 7, 2024Applicant: PIONEER HI-BRED INTERNATIONAL, INCInventors: JENNIFER KARA BARRY, CATHERINE J CLARK, RYAN MICHAEL GERBER, AMY LUM, JOHN P MATHIS, AZALEA S ONG, BROOKE PETERSON-BURCH, THOMAS CHAD WOLFE, WEIPING XIE, NASSER YALPANI, XIAOHONG ZHONG

Patent number: 9278160Abstract: The present invention teaches a micro-porous injectable, soft elastic, fully resorbable fibrin-based composition for use as a soft tissue lumen and void filler. The composition of the present application exhibits physical characteristics, such as mechanical properties, typically seen in elastomers and mechanical stability, which is superior to fibrin alone. A variety of properties of the composition of the present invention can be effectively fine-tuned and altered by adjusting type and content of the particles as well as of the plasticizer contained in the void filler composition.Type: GrantFiled: January 10, 2013Date of Patent: March 8, 2016Assignees: Baxter International Inc., Baxter Healthcare S.A.Inventors: John J. Barry, Andreas Goessl, Heinz Gulle, Monika Mangold, Melitta Bilban

Publication number: 20080260714Abstract: A composition for use in bone healing and bone regeneration in the form of a viscoelastic hydrogel gel or liquid formulation comprising fibrinogen, thrombin and an inorganic component comprising a strontium (Sr) containing compound and/or possibly another metal such as a calcium containing compound. The strontium containing compound can be dissolved in the thrombin solutions or added to the clot in crystalline particulate form. Upon mixing the components, gelation takes place to form a matrix. The composition may also comprise an iodine-containing compound which acts as a plasticizer.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 18, 2008Publication date: October 23, 2008Applicants: BAXTER INTERNATIONAL INC., BAXTER HEALTHCARE S.A.Inventors: John J. Patent number: 4714108Abstract: A heat pump system is disclosed which includes a pipe having a circular cross sectional shape and a diametrically disposed partition dividing the circular cross sectional shape into two semi-circular flow passages. Each flow passage having an area equal to the cross sectional area of the hole through a one inch diameter pipe. The two flow channels are connected together by a return means at their second end and one of the flow passages at the first end is connected to a pump which directs the fluid into a heat exchanger and a return passage is provided for the fluid from the heat exchanger to the second flow passage in the pipe. The pipe is disclosed in a medium like liquid or soil or the like and heat is absorbed by the fluid flowing through the flow channels which is circulated by a pump and transferred to a second medium by heat exchanger.Type: GrantFiled: August 18, 1986Date of Patent: December 22, 1987Assignee: Pyramid Industries, Inc.Inventor: John J.
