Publication number: 20160235004Abstract: A corn ear harvester which comprises two deck plates and two gathering chain devices. The gathering chain devices each comprise an endless chain which forms a chain loop which comprises a straight operational part; a corn ear paddle and paddle connector which connects the corn ear paddle to the chain. The device further comprises a corn stalk channel having a deck plate channel section extends between the deck plates and a gathering chain channel section between the gathering chain devices. The deck plate channel section is too narrow for a corn ear to pass through. The corn ear paddles are arranged adjacent to a deck plate on the side of the ear blocking surface of said first deck plate and the endless chains of the gathering chain devices are arranged adjacent to the deck plates on the opposite side.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 4, 2016Publication date: August 18, 2016Inventors: Glenn Aesaert, Ward Bonte, John J. Patent number: 7908836Abstract: The draper canvas of the header includes a strip of a resilient material that stands outwardly and forwardly of a front edge thereof and has an outer barrier surface, an inner barrier surface, and a front barrier surface received and contained in structure of a cutter bar and a front draper support plate having a plurality of barrier elements in face-to-face closely spaced relation with the barrier surfaces to form a multiple sided barrier interface between the cutter bar and draper fabric for excluding cut crop from the interior of the header. The strip runs within the container structure with minimal contact to reduce friction and wear.Type: GrantFiled: July 20, 2010Date of Patent: March 22, 2011Assignee: CNH America LLCInventors: James F. Rayfield, John J. Conroy

Patent number: 5526656Abstract: A fiber string having a plurality of loops extending outwardly therefrom is formed by knitting a loop pile fabric with non-soluble and soluble yarns and then dissolving the soluble yarns in a solution to release the knitted loops. The loop pile fabric includes a central rib, or backbone, knitted from a plurality of non-soluble yarns, a plurality of loops knitted into the central rib such that terminal ends thereof extend outwardly from opposite sides of the central rib, and a strip of retaining fabric respectively knitted into the terminal ends of the loops on each side of said central rib. The loops are knitted from a plurality of non-soluble yarns, and the strips of retaining fabric are knitted from a plurality of soluble yarns. The retaining fabrics hold the ends of the loops during knitting. However, the loops are subsequently freed from the retaining fabric by immersing the entire fabric in a solution capable of dissolving the soluble yarns, i.e. the retaining fabric.Type: GrantFiled: October 21, 1994Date of Patent: June 18, 1996Assignee: Providence Braid Company, Inc.Inventors: John J. Conroy, Jr., James Macaulay

Patent number: 4575186Abstract: The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for enlarging the spectral range of an acousto-optic tunable filter by extending the operation of the transducer structure to its third harmonic. The transducer structure consists of a plurality of individual transducer elements in electrical communication through a switching network which modifies the total capacitance of the transducer structure to provide a satisfactory impedance match at both the fundamental and the third harmonic.Type: GrantFiled: September 14, 1982Date of Patent: March 11, 1986Assignee: Westinghouse Electric Corp.Inventors: Milton Gottlieb, John J. Conroy
