    Abstract: An interconnect member is provided for electrically connecting an electronic module to a printed circuit. The interconnect member includes a substrate having a module side and an opposite circuit side. Module contacts are held by the substrate. The module contacts are arranged within an array along the module side of the substrate. The module contacts include module mating interfaces that are configured to be electrically connected to the electronic module. Circuit contacts are held by the substrate. The circuit contacts are arranged within an array along the circuit side of the substrate. The circuit contacts include circuit mating interfaces that are configured to be electrically connected to the printed circuit. Electrical components extend between and electrically connect corresponding module contacts to corresponding circuit contacts to provide electrical paths for electrical signals transmitted between the module and circuit contacts.

    Abstract: A printed circuit board includes a bore having a perimeter and a total depth. An electrically conductive barrel extends around at least a portion of the perimeter of the bore and along a predetermined depth of the bore, the predetermined depth being less than the total depth of the bore. The barrel has an end that terminates at a countersunk portion of the bore. A contact includes a body having first and second ends. The first end includes a compliant section that is positioned in the barrel, thereby forming a separable interface between the contact and the circuit board. The second end extends out of the barrel and interfaces with an electrical component. Protrusion of the first end out of the barrel is minimized. The above relationships are used to decrease capacitive loading.

    Abstract: An electrical connector (10) for surface mounting to a printed circuit card (12) includes an insulating housing (20,116), contacts (24) secured in the housing, a metal shell (30,120) for inductively shielding the contacts and an improved grounding element (32,34,100) which extends into a cavity (66,118) provided therefor in the housing. The grounding element, the housing and the metal shell are arranged so that when the grounding element is inserted into the cavity, a contact region (42,106) of the grounding element engages the metal shell. The grounding element also includes a solder flange portion (36,102) which extends laterally outwardly from the housing for soldering to a ground pad (18) on the printed circuit card.

    Abstract: A telephone handset comprises elongated complementary upper and lower housing members that mate at their perimeters to form a hollow handset housing. The lower housing member includes spaced transducer mounting positions, each of which accommodates both an individual transducer and a transducer mounting member for holding the transducer in the transducer mounting position. Each transducer mounting member is secured to the lower housing member and an upper surface of each enclosure inlcudes a recess for accommodating a bonding material. In addition, the upper housing member includes elements that extend into the recesses of the transducer mounting members when the upper housing member is mated to the lower housing member. The bonding material in the recesses serves to secure the two housing members together.

    Abstract: An electrical circuit package is disclosed that provides an electrically insulating protection cover for an integral circuit board assembly. The package includes a flexible dielectric substrate 10. A first portion 12 of the dielectric substrate has one or more electrically conductive paths 20 located thereon and one or more electrical components 30 supported thereon and electrically connected to the conductive paths. A second portion 14 of the dielectric substrate 10 is free of any paths or electrical components. The second portion is folded over and secured to the first portion to provide a protective enclosure.
