  • Patent number: 7520152
Abstract: A door lock device includes a lock having a deadbolt with a first end and a second end. The second end is structured to disengage from an object, such as a portion of a door frame, in a first position and to engage the object in a second position. A spring directly engages and biases the first end of the deadbolt toward the second position thereof. A solenoid includes a plunger structured to engage the deadbolt, in order to hold the deadbolt in the first position thereof. A sensor is structured to sense at least one of the first and second positions of the deadbolt. A wireless controller is structured to receive a wireless signal and responsively energize the solenoid, in order to disengage the plunger of the solenoid from the deadbolt and release the deadbolt to the second position thereof.

  • Patent number: 5787173
Abstract: A system for the secure communication of a message from a transmitting user to a receiving user using a split key scheme. Each user generates a key component using a cryptographic engine. The key component is a pseudorandom sequence of bits with an appended error detection field which is mathematically calculated based on the pseudorandom sequence. This key component is then sent out on a communications channel from the transmitting user to the receiving user. The receiving user also sends its key component to the transmitting user. Each location performs a mathematical check on the key component received from the other location. If the key component checks pass at both locations, the transmit key component and the receive key component, including the error detection fields, are combined at both locations, forming identical complete keys at both locations.

  • Patent number: 5410599
Abstract: A portable voice and data encryption device designed to be used with normal wideband telephone and cellular telephones, computers and facsimile machines to transmit voice and data in encrypted form. The V/DED comprises a voice and data encryption module, an encryption and control module, and a modem module. The modem module can adapt its data rate to account for the changes in the signal strength between the sending and receiving sites. The encryption and control module senses the change in data rate of the modem module during transmission and synchronizes the activities of the voice and data module so that the amount of data being produced for encryption and transmission matches the data rate being experienced by the modem module. The V/DED very simply connects to the wall jack of a normal PSTN with the computer, telephone, or facsimile machine plugging directly into the V/DED.

  • Patent number: 4450740
Abstract: A rotary envelope machine blank cutter is provided with laterally adjustable, independent frame units for each meshing set of knife rolls for changing the depth of a side cut into a blank for envelope size and style production changes. The rotational and axial meshing of hard and soft knives respective to a single knife roll set is adjusted without disturbing the roll mount of either knife. Changes in envelope length or style are accommodated by the mechanical capacity to adjust the rotation cut timing between the knife roll sets of a two-set unit and also between respective cutting units of two or more two-set units. As in the case of lateral cut adjustments, knife roll mounts are undisturbed by rotational timing adjustments. Consequently, the machine may be quickly and accurately changed for production runs of any of several envelope style and several sizes respective to each style: all adjustments being made without disturbing the knife profile mesh of any knife set.
