  • Patent number: 5876263
Abstract: A toy animal is provided with an electrically powered motor which drives a curled tongue through a generally orbital motion that realistically resembles a licking motion. A switch for actuating the motor may be pressure responsive and may be disposed at a location on the body and/or the head of the animal that may be petted or squeezed. The toy animal may further include a sound chip for generating an appropriate noise when the switch is actuated. Portions of the head near the tongue are formed from a soft deformable material to achieve facial movement simultaneously with the licking motion.

  • Patent number: 5234367
Abstract: An articulated gliding ring is provided in which a plurality of elongated members, which may be curved or straight, are pivotally joined to form a closed ring of circular or polyhedric contour, each of the elongated members having, throughout the major portion of its length an airfoil contour. The articulated structure permits the gliding ring to be projected by back-hand delivery of the open ring, or over-hand delivery of the elongated ring grasped at one folded joint; and has the further advantage of permitting the ring to be folded to compact, pocket size for storage and transport. The most compact folding is made possible by disconnecting one of the pivot joints, and by employing straight rather than curved elongated members.

  • Patent number: 5161810
Abstract: An ice skateboard comprising an elongated platform having secured to the front and rear portions of the underside conventional skateboard trucks, with transverse axles supported by a structure facilitating slight controllable swinging movement of the axle in response to the shifting of weight on the platform, wherein each of the front and rear axles rotatably supports at opposed ends thereof elongated skate blade mounting units in a manner to be parallel to the center line of the platform, and each of the mounting units bearing a skate blade protruding in a direction away from the platform, the exposed edge of each blade having a front to rear contour of slightly convex curvature and a transverse contour of markedly concave curvature providing closely spaced ice gripping edges, and the mounting units for said blades being so fashioned as to provide a cant to the blades of at least 5.degree., thereby convergently orientating the mounted blades.
