    Abstract: An improved process for the regeneration of activated carbon impregnated with caustic is described. A three stage wash with caustic solutions of from 30 to 50 percent and from 5 to 25 percent removes both organic and sulfur contaminants. This regeneration returns the carbon essentially to its original capacity for adsorption of malodorous compounds.
