  • Publication number: 20240084143
Abstract: A mono-extruded hemp composite board (EHB) is provided. By combining hemp feedstocks with virgin and/or recycled binder materials and subsequently extruding them into an extrudate sheet, an environmentally friendly alternative to tradition construction materials is created. Secondary feedstocks and waste products from other production streams may be added during the extrusion process to enhance the physical characteristics of the extrudate sheet in addition to reducing the raw material costs and creating a more environmentally friendly construction material. The extrudate sheet produced using such materials is structurally superior to traditional construction materials due to the structural characteristics of dispersed hemp feedstocks; the complete encapsulation of hemp feedstocks in the binder material; and the lower hygroscopic and higher pest and mold resistance properties of hemp feedstocks.

  • Publication number: 20240084093
Abstract: A method for producing environmentally friendly, mono-extruded hemp composite board (EHB) is provided. By using hemp fiber and hemp hurd in combination with virgin and/or recycled binders, the system and method may be used to create preferable substitutes for traditional construction boards. The method generally comprises steps of processing hemp hurd/fiber and injecting said hemp hurd/fiber into an extruder along with a binder. Waste products from other production streams may be added as well to reduce waste/cost of said production streams. The resulting EHB is structurally superior to traditional construction boards largely due to the structural characteristics of dispersed hemp hurd and hemp fiber, their complete encapsulation in a binder material, and their lower hygroscopic properties. Additionally, since the EHB is created using an extruder, a downstream extrusion arrangement may be used to mold the EHB into shapes that are difficult to achieve with traditional construction boards.

  • Patent number: 7612773
Abstract: An apparatus and method for rendering for display forward-looking image data. The apparatus includes rendering for display image data from a forward-looking conical section of tissue collected by an image data collection device, comprising a data input unit configured to receive the image data; and an image data processing unit configured to rasterize the image data onto a projected three-dimensional geometric model to produce a rasterized image, thereby giving the appearance of three-dimensions when displayed. The method includes a method of rendering for display image data from a forward-looking conical section of tissue collected by an image data collecting device, comprising receiving the image data; and rasterizing the image data onto a projected three-dimensional geometric model to produce a rasterized image, thereby giving the appearance of three dimensions when displayed.

  • Patent number: 7325066
Abstract: A system and method of providing streaming audio and video data to multiple users is described. In one embodiment, the system comprises a first client, a second client and a server. The first and second clients are executing browsers. The server can communicate with the two clients. The server concurrently provides streaming audio and video data to both of the clients. Importantly, the server does not require the two browsers to use a plug-in or a helper application to receive and use the streaming audio and video data.

  • Patent number: 7310680
Abstract: A computer system provides streaming media to a plurality of clients over a network. The system includes a proxy module that forwards streaming media from a first streaming media source to a network server module that is communicating to the plurality of client terminals. The proxy module is comunicatable with the network server module to be signaled a switch request. In response to the switch request, the proxy module forwards streaming media from a second streaming media source to the network server module while the network server module is signaling streaming media from the first streaming media source to the plurality of client terminals.

  • Patent number: 4709235
Abstract: An aircraft-launched, ram-air inflatable, passive radar decoy (10) has a substantially cylindrically shaped body (12) having an open forward end (14) and a closed porous rearward end (16), the body comprised of a fabric reinforced composite having a high radar reflectivity coating on at least it interior surfaces (12i, 16i). A rod-shaped weight (22) is attached at the forward end (14) by way of shroud lines (20), the weight (22) providing the highest weight-to-drag-area ratio for the particular size body. The decoy (10) provides a high radar cross section and broad angle coverage to ground-based source of radar when it is ram-air inflated upon ejection by the aircraft into its adjacent windstream.

  • Patent number: 4184681
Abstract: A ram-air inflatable, fabric, towed gunnery target for air, land, and naval defense practice having a rigid enclosed nose cone and a flexible inflatable envelope with aft inflation inlets and finlet stabilizers is presented. The gunnery target is foldable for storage and deployment, said envelope folded into a rigid extraction module canister and said nose cone serving as the nose cone for said module. The target may be air launched or ground-snatch deployed, said module being air deployed from a pod launcher on the tractor aircraft. The target may be towed for gunnery sorties at speeds and distances exceeding current tow target performance limits. The nose cone contains housing for sensitive detection devices to record hits or near-misses of said target simulated to be hits on an actual aircraft. The target is capable of withstanding multiple bullet perforations and may be recovered from land, sea, or air and refurbished and reused.
