  • Patent number: 4427227
Abstract: An implement particularly intended for picking up asphalt shingles from a randomly strewn pile has a lever pivotally connected on one side of the shaft of a garden fork or similar tool such that movement of the upper end of the lever away from the handle brings the lower end of the lever into contact with the tines of the fork. The length of the lever is preferably about one-half the overall length of the fork, and the distance of the pivot point from the lower end of the lever is preferably about two-fifths of the overall length of the lever.
