Abstract: A harness may be configured to carry a piece of equipment and be worn by a wearer. The harness may comprise, for example, a central mounting plate, an equipment support member configured to support the piece of equipment, one or more vertical support members, and a belt. The equipment support member, the vertical support members, and the belt may be fixedly or removably attached to the central mounting plate. In some instances, an equipment bag may be removably attached to a portion of the harness. The equipment bag may weigh about 25 pounds, and the harness may be configured to be worn for approximately 12 hours at a time. The harness may be configured to transfer the weight of the piece of equipment from the shoulders and chest to the hips and lower back of the wearer.
