  • Patent number: 4974771
Abstract: A paperboard carton in the form of a rectangular parallelpiped and formed by gluing and folding a scored, one-piece paperboard blank. The top panel or wall of the carton carries a series of perforated/cut lines which define a finger insertable carrying handle upon pushing inwardly by the user. A pair of thumb holes is provided on the top carton panel with each hole equidistantly spaced from the handle recess in the top panel. The carton may be carried by inserting a thumb in one of the thumb holes and the remaining fingers in the handle, thereby defining two lifting and carrying areas for the convenience of the user. The carton is particularly useful as a container for cans. In a modification, strain-relieving cuts are provided in the side walls, these cuts intersecting curved portions of finger perforated lines in the top panel.

  • Patent number: 4487311
Abstract: A dual compartment display carton formed, by folding and gluing, into a generally parallelepiped shape. Each product cell is adapted to hold a plurality of stacked items, such as cups and cup holders. The two product cells are fixed together along a common boundary wall. One product cell is partially open and the other may be completely closed against contaminants by a transparent plastic sheet.

  • Patent number: 4388993
Abstract: A multiple access carton particularly adapted for food products, comprising top, bottom and side wall members integrally connected by fold lines to form a carton body, major and minor panels on each end of the carton for detachably interlocking with each other to form an end closure and a tear strip formed in and extending across the top wall and being of sufficient width whereby the content of the carton may be retrieved through either of the end closures or the top wall when the tear strip is removed.

  • Patent number: 4361236
Abstract: A one-piece carton construction used to mail and store checks includes a double front, bottom, back and top wall. A double side wall construction is hingedly connected to the front and rear walls by web corners adapted to be folded along a diagonal. Each side wall construction also has a tab which is frictionally locked against the bottom wall of the carton between the front and back walls to retain the double wall side walls and front, rear and bottom wall panels in a substantially rectangular parallelopiped configuration. Checks are placed within the rectangular parallelopiped enclosure and the top wall is folded downwardly about the back wall to form a cover for the carton. The top wall has a tuck flap hingedly connected to its front edge and a pair of rupturable panels connected to opposed side edges of the top wall. Each rupturable panel includes a tear strip bounded by cut score lines and a terminal adhesive panel.
