  • Patent number: 5662281
Abstract: An apparatus for destroying medical waste material is provided including a transportable container member, a processor having rotatably driven roller members for breaking the medical waste materials into smaller particles, a removable receptacle for containing the medical waste particles, and a loading device for actuating an opening mechanism of the transportable container and regulating the introduction of medical waste material therein.

  • Patent number: 5660026
Abstract: A method and apparatus for automatically providing a display case for a plurality of packages includes an assembly station at which the packages are initially assembled into an array. The array is then moved to a covering station. At the same time, a shroud is formed which shroud covers a top and two opposed first sides of the array while leaving two opposed second sides of the array uncovered. Forming of the shroud includes initially bending a blank so that a partially-formed shroud is produced having a top panel and two opposed side panels formed in a plane, and finally bending and locating the partially formed shroud relative to the array at the covering station such that a fully covered array is provided with the top panel and side panels covering a majority of the respective top and first sides of the array. Finally, the covered array is placed in a tray at a finishing station to provide the display case.

  • Patent number: 5335482
Abstract: An apparatus and method for continuously loading containers into cartons in oriented two row arrays is provided. A supply delivers the containers individually to a depositing device for individually receiving respective containers. The depositing device is then moved to individually deposit the containers delivered thereto in a first collection device for collecting the containers in rows and columns corresponding to the array. The first collection device includes a matrix of dedicated channels similar to the array into which channels the depositing device deposits the containers in a sequential manner whereby the matrix is repeatedly filled with the containers row by row. Individually and alternately after each associated row of the matrix is filled, each row of containers in the first collection device is next delivered to a second collection device for collecting the containers in separated rows. The second collection device includes a respective bay for each respective row of the array of containers.

  • Patent number: 5080792
Abstract: Apparatus and method for separating flowing immiscible fluid phases of different specific gravities includes an elongate conduit having an inlet for receiving incoming fluids, an outlet for discharging separated fluids, a first end and an open second end. The outlet is formed by the open second end. The inlet is longitudinally spaced away from the outlet on the elongate conduit. A flow assembly is provided for creating cyclonic flow of the fluid from the inlet through the outlet of the elongate conduit in order to centrifugally separate the fluids so that that the separated fluids flow concentrically through the outlet. The separator can include an outer tank surrounding the elongate conduit.

  • Patent number: 4797268
Abstract: Regenerator effluent produced by regenerating ZnS to ZnO is provided with a stream containing H.sub.2 S from the feed to a Claus plant to a catalytic oxidation zone where O.sub.2 present is consumed. The effluent from the catalytic oxidation zone is provided to a Claus catalytic reaction zone.
