  • Patent number: 5284461
Abstract: A combination twister and stepper device includes a stepper unit and a twister unit in combination with a common frame. The stepper unit has a pair of side by side steps, each of which is biased upwardly. The twister includes a turntable or disk on a pivotal mount. The stepper and twister are secured to a frame which includes a pair of pivotal poles. The stepper and twister may be used simultaneously while also using the poles or the stepper and twister may be selectively inactivated so that only one of the units is used.

  • Patent number: 5258166
Abstract: The device of the present invention is a roll up mat-like structure which may be used to retain sterile and/or contaminated tools, dental and medical instruments, probes and the like. The device is adapted to protect the tools from contamination by coming in contact with persons, inadvertently, and to minimize the risk of the transmission of infectious disease by allowing contaminated tools to come into contact with persons. The device also minimizes the risk of cross-contamination of tools. Finally, the device in accordance with the present invention is of a size and shape which will allow it to be conveniently utilized with conventional cleaning apparatus thus reducing the amount of manipulation contaminated tools require.

  • Patent number: 5253787
Abstract: A dispenser for a fluid substance, such as toothpaste, includes an elongated tube having an open top and an open bottom with a chamber therebetween for holding the substance. A bottom closure is mounted to the open bottom to close the open bottom. The bottom closure is longitudinally movable in a sealing manner in the open bottom to press against the substance and to move into the chamber as the substance is being dispensed. A flexible membrane sealing closes the open top of the tube. A nozzle extends through the membrane having a longitudinal passageway communicating with the chamber for dispensing the substance when the nozzle is moved to a dispensing orientation. The membrane is made of a stretchable resilient material so that the nozzle may be titled to the dispensing orientation and thereby stretch the membrane and force the membrane into the chamber to reduce the size of the chamber and cause a portion of the substance to flow through the nozzle.

  • Patent number: 5207622
Abstract: A universally adaptable adjustable arm exercise device to supplement leg exercising includes a leg exercising unit having a foot contact surface. A pole is mounted adjacent each of two opposite sides of the foot contact surface. The mounting is accomplished by each pole being mounted to a mounting bracket secured to the leg exercise unit. A hinge pin extends from each bracket with a respective pole pivotally mounted to one of the hinge pins. An adjustable resistance device is provided on each of the hinge pins with a resistance setting member on each hinge pin for controlling the resistance force required for a user to pivot the poles back and forth and thereby provide an arm exercise simultaneously with the use of the leg exercise unit.

  • Patent number: 5184986
Abstract: A wrist exercise device includes a handle having an axial opening through which a bolt extends. A spring is around one end of the bolt disposed against an adjustment ring. A pressure plate is mounted at the opposite end of the handle between the handle and the head of the bolt. At least one clutch disc is disposed against the pressure plate. A knob is mounted around the pressure plate and cluch disc, mounted for relative rotational movement with respect to the handle. The wrist is exercised holding the handle and the knob and twisting one of the handle or knob relative to the other.

  • Patent number: 4187703
Abstract: A container in the form of a flat envelope, open at one end for insertion and removal of a slide, has a series of locking keys shiftable laterally to left or right from a normal, centered, rest position. When all the keys have been shifted in predetermined directions to positions representing a pre-set combination, the slide is freed for partial removal from the envelope, to an unlocking position that permits the object to be removed or in some cases to gravitate freely from the envelope. The device can be made inexpensively of injection molded plastic or plastic-coated cardboard, cheaply enough to allow it to be made as a single-use, disposable article.
