  • Patent number: 5483689
Abstract: A radio receiver has a radio tuner having a radio frequency input and an audio output, and an audio signal amplifying system having an audio input and an electroacoustical transducing output. A volume controller is coupled to the radio tuner and the audio amplifying system. A microprocessor is coupled to the tuner, volume controller, a visible display and an array of controls.

    Assignee: Bose Corporation
Inventors: John J. O'Donnell, Jr., Joseph A. Killough, William A. Allen
  • Patent number: 5018621
Abstract: A resilient cylindrical tubular container for spherical objects such as medicinal pills, includes a stopper with flexible fingers extending into the tube to restrain the objects from movement during shipment. An adsorbent desiccant cushion in the bottom of the tube cushions the objects and keeps them dry. Objects are dispensed by removing the cap, pressing the tube at a point below the number of objects desired, and then inverting the tube to pour out only that number.

  • Patent number: 4313809
Abstract: A novel process for improving the operation of silicon-on-sapphire devices by removing or minimizing edge current leakage. The reduction in leakage current is accomplished by subjecting the completed device to a sputtering operation and depositing thereon a layer of, for example, aluminum which is subsequently removed prior to scribing and dicing.

  • Patent number: 4313218
Abstract: An extended AGC circuit renders at least one of a pair of back-to-back diodes, which together form antenna switch, continuously conductive under high RF input signal conditions to the radio receiver to extend the AGC performance of the receiver over a greater range of RF input signal conditions. A local/distant switch function can be easily and economically added to the extended circuit.

  • Patent number: 4095124
Abstract: An electrical device in which a transformer and switch are cooperatively integrated, the magnetic field of an energized primary winding of the transformer performing the dual function of (1) energizing a magnetically coupled secondary winding to generate an induced voltage to power associated circuitry, and (2) determining the state of the switch. The associated circuitry may be control circuitry for controlling energization of a primary winding, or for changing the path or presence of the magnetic flux created by the energized primary winding electromagnetic field; or it may perform general functions such as indicating the state of energization of a primary winding, or of the state of the responsive switch or associated devices.
