  • Patent number: 7314015
Abstract: An express docking system and its method of use, wherein the system comprises: an engaging rod assembly comprising an engaging rod subassembly attachable to a boating vessel, wherein the engaging rod subassembly comprises an engaging rod in communication with a main frame; a mooring assembly comprising: a mounting subassembly attached to a dock; a carriage subassembly slidably engaged with the mounting subassembly; an actuating subassembly mounted to the carriage subassembly; and a jaw subassembly comprising a first jaw opposite to a second jaw; wherein the engaging rod is disposable between the first and second jaws.

  • Patent number: 6764107
Abstract: The present invention is a pre-assembled fitting or coupling having a body, a sleeve, and a nut. One end of the nut has a through bore that is tapered and decreases in diameter toward the end of the nut. The outer surface of the sleeve is tapered as well which facilitates the radial movement of the sleeve segments upon tightening locking the sleeve segments into the proper position on the corrugated tubing. The body contains an inner seal surface with improved geometry that effectively concentrates the sealing load over a pre-determined surface and prevents overloading of the seal surface area. The sleeve of the present invention is divided into four separate segments. The inner surface of the sleeve contains an annular spring. The spring on the inner surface facilitates the removal of the corrugated tube from the nut and coupling body by forcing the segments outward upon loosening the nut.

  • Patent number: 5171455
Abstract: Small quantities of one or more liquids having a low boiling point dispersed with a large quantity of one or more immiscible liquids having a higher boiling point are separated in a rapid and efficient manner. A non-reactive gas (nitrogen, helium, air, or combinations thereof) is heated by recycled energy and make-up energy to a temperature above the boiling point of at least one liquid but below that of at least one other liquid. The heated gas is combined with the unheated or preheated liquid-liquid mixture to be separated, and the liquid-gas blend is mixed, heated and distributed by an improved heat exchanger having thermal conductive gas tubing, metal wools and fins) and nebulizer, forming a mist inside a vessel containing a pool liquid of at least one liquid having a boiling point higher than that of at least one other liquid, which pool liquid has been heated with at least a heat pump means to a temperature above the boiling point of at least one liquid but below the pool liquid's own boiling point.

A non-reactive compressed gas is heated by recycled energy and make-up energy to a temperature above the boiling point of at least one liquid but below that of at least one other liquid. The liquid having high-boiling-point in the mist settles by gravity and merges with the pool liquid.

  • Patent number: 4973404
Abstract: A filtration apparatus characterized by efficiency of the precoating step and maintenance of filtration performance over a long period of time after precoating has been completed. The filter promotes parallel flow of porous precoat material along a porous septum, thereby achieving efficient stacking of this material against the septum. A dual-speed pumping system transmits the precoat material to the septum at high velocity, thereby further encouraging efficient stacking, but pumps the fluid to be filtered at a lower velocity to minimize energy consumption.
