  • Patent number: 6992014
Abstract: A method for controlling a process on a substrate. The method comprising: providing the substrate, the substrate having an upper surface, an opposite lower surface and an edge between the upper and lower surfaces; processing the upper surface of the substrate with a first fluid; directing a second fluid against a portion of the lower surface proximate to the edge of the substrate, wherein the second fluid flows adjacent to the edge of the substrate; and controlling the temperature of the second fluid in order to affect a processing of an edge region of the upper side of the substrate.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 13, 2002
Date of Patent: January 31, 2006
    Assignee: International Business Machines Corporation
Inventors: Casey J. Grant, Joel M. Sharrow, John J. Snyder

  • Patent number: 5784444
Abstract: This invention relates to a method and apparatus for specifying alternative phone numbers to be used as Incoming Calling Line Identification (ICLID) numbers. When calling from a remote telephone station, the caller may provide personalized information including a telephone number and corresponding indicia, and indicate the telephone number is to be used as the ICLID number. Further, the caller may provide a personal message along with the telephone number and its accompanying indicia. Advantageously, callers may identify themselves, or for the purposes of ICLID, with their home or business telephone number even when they are calling from a different telephone station.

  • Patent number: 5339229
Abstract: A positioning device for a flashlight and the like having a substantially cylindrical body portion, the positioning device including an annular member having an interior opening passing therethrough, the interior opening being dimensioned to at least partially encircle the substantially cylindrical body of the flashlight, the annular member having an exterior surface opposing the interior opening, and at least one substantially planar surface provided on the exterior surface of the annular member. Preferably, the annular member includes a magnetized plastic material, and the at least one substantially planar surface includes at least six substantially planar surfaces provided on the exterior surface of the annular member, or the at least one substantially planar surface includes at least five substantially planar surfaces provided on the exterior surface of the annular member.
