  • Publication number: 20250110242
Abstract: A global navigation satellite system (GNSS) signal authentication methodology includes receiving, by one or more processors, a first digital signal and a second digital signal, the first digital signal and the second digital signal each representative of a GNSS satellite signal received from a GNSS satellite and including a ranging code that uniquely identifies the GNSS satellite, the first and second GNSS satellite signals transmitted contemporaneously from physically separate antennas onboard the GNSS satellite. The methodology continues with computing, by the one or more processors, a digital fingerprint based on the first digital signal and the second digital signal, and determining, by the one or more processors, that the first GNSS satellite signal and the second GNSS satellite signal are authentic (or not) based on the digital fingerprint. If the first and/or second GNSS satellite signals are found to not be authentic, remedial action may be taken.

  • Patent number: 9945958
Abstract: Hybrid systems capable of performing both civilian and military GPS functions with hardware-enforced separation of data boundaries are disclosed. A hybrid system may include a first position data processor configured to generate a first set of position data based on signals received from a satellite navigation system and signals received from a digital antenna. The hybrid system may also include a second position data processor configured to generate a second set of position data based on signals received from the satellite navigation system and signals received from the digital antenna. The hybrid system may further provide a communication interface established between the first position data processor and the second position data processor.

  • Patent number: 9927527
Abstract: Signal acquisition methods and receivers utilizing such signal acquisition methods are disclosed. More specifically, a signal acquisition method may include: identifying a list of available beam patterns that an antenna unit is configured to provide; iteratively searching for satellite signals by controlling the antenna unit to utilize one of the list of available beam patterns in each iteration; determining whether a satellite signal is detected in each iteration; collecting ephemeris data of a satellite producing the satellite signal when the satellite signal is detected in each iteration; and controlling beamforming operations of the antenna unit for satellite signal acquisition based on the ephemeris data collected.
