  • Patent number: 11850200
Abstract: The device and methods disclosed herein allow an individual to create and sustain a differential stretch to the anterior muscles and ligaments of the torso, hips and legs. The device includes a base frame, a vertical member secured to the base frame, a rotational lift lever secured to the vertical member at a pivot point, a lower extremity elevation member secured to the rotational lift lever, and at least one lower extremity attachment device secured to the lower extremity elevation member. In use, the device lifts an individual's legs above the ground, while the person is lying face down, so as to create a stretch in the anterior muscles, fascia, or ligaments. The device has various planes of rotation, allowing for differential stretching in various quadrants of the torso. The device is adjustable in height as well as displacement along a track within the base to accommodate different body types.

  • Publication number: 20230107718
Abstract: An adjustable support for differentially adjusting the height of a user's ischial tuberosity to relieve pain from sitting is disclosed. The support includes an adjustable left and right platform, each including at least one stackable lift having a stiffness sufficient to provide pressure to lift the sitz bone(s). Each lift is shaped and sized so that it can be securely stacked on top of the other. The stackable lifts may be connected along an inner edge in a hinged manner or can be received within at least one pouch and movable between the left and right platforms. To lift the height of the lower sitz bone the right and left platforms have a differential height between them, determined by the amount of adjustment needed. The differential adjustable seating height creates a counterbalancing repositioning of the sitz bones relieving the asymmetrical pressure of the sacral/lumbar complex caused by misalignment.

  • Patent number: 11311444
Abstract: An assistive stretching device worn by a user to reduce physical stress while lifting to aid another individual in stretching and method is disclosed. The device includes a belt sized to fit around the torso of the user, first and second pulleys supported on the belt, first and second wrist attachments; first and second ankle attachments; first and second cords threaded through corresponding pulleys with one end attached to corresponding ankle attachments and the opposite end attached to corresponding wrist attachments. The pulleys operate to change the direction of the lifting force, making it easier to lift and stretch the anterior aspects of the musculature of the individual rather than lifting dead weight. An attachment including a dual pulley system may replace the first and second pulleys and includes an arm supporting a pulley at each end and openings to provide leverage adjustments when attaching the arm to the belt.

  • Patent number: 10799741
Abstract: The present invention relates to an immersible, adjustable, surface compliant device and methods of using it an environment with variable, induced current flows for purposes of exercise, rehabilitation, or pure fun. The adjustable, immersible, surface compliant device can be used in pools, water tanks, or any body of water having a location where the device could be attached. The adjustable, immersible, surface compliant device and methods of using it are ideal for rehabilitating an injury, assisting aging bodies in performing exercises, and allowing the permanently injured to achieve movement and some degrees of physical autonomy despite being injured. In some embodiments, I disclose a trampoline-like device, having adjustable surface compliance, to be used in a pool or water tank having a current flow, wherein the angle of the trampoline is horizontally adjustable.

  • Publication number: 20190362571
Abstract: An access control system and method for a building, facility or secured area and designed to maximize the use of the resource before expiration, having an entrance, includes an access control mechanism, a credential reader and a server. The access control mechanism is connected to the entrance and is operable between a locked position and an unlocked position. The credential reader is configured and arranged to read a credential presented by a user. The server is connected to the credential reader and access control and is configured and arranged to authenticate the credential of the user and whether the user had a valid reservation. The server unlocks the access control mechanism if the user has a valid credential and reservation.
