The weapon release safety system can be in the inactive state while the weapon is within a proximity of the storage, and the weapon release safety system can be in the active state while the weapon is not within the proximity of the storage. The tracking system can be configured to track a number of times that the weapon has been drawn from the storage by a bearer.
