  • Publication number: 20240050101
Abstract: A sheathed blade assembly for minimizing or preventing contact between the moving interior blade and the exterior sheath. The assembly includes an exterior sheath having a first portion and second portion with an inner lumen therebetween, an interior blade movable within the inner lumen of the exterior sheath, a first pocket within a first surface of the interior blade, and a first ball bearing within the first pocket. The first ball bearing creates a clearance amount between the first surface of the interior blade and the first portion of the exterior sheath. The assembly may also include a second pocket within a second surface of the interior blade for a second ball bearing. The second ball bearing creates a clearance amount between the second surface of the interior blade and the second portion of the exterior sheath. The second pocket is in a staggered configuration relative to the first pocket.

  • Publication number: 20220039819
Abstract: A shaver bur for resecting bone inside the joint in arthroscopic procedures. The shaver bur includes an inner assembly having an inner hub with an inner tube extending distally therefrom. The inner tube terminates in a distal bur tip. The shaver bur also includes an outer assembly having an outer hub with an outer tube extending distally therefrom. The inner tube is moveable within the outer tube between a retracted position and an extended position. The shaver bur additionally includes a deployment mechanism connected to the outer hub. The deployment mechanism is movable in a first direction and a second direction. Moving the deployment mechanism in the first direction moves the inner tube to the extended position and moving the deployment mechanism in the second direction moves the inner tube to the retracted position.

  • Publication number: 20210030456
Abstract: A wire driver for inserting a wire into bone. The wire driver includes a housing having proximal and distal ends, with a handpiece extending to the proximal end. The handpiece is connected to a gripping portion, which extends to the distal end. A channel extends through the gripping portion and is connected to a gripping mechanism. A drive mechanism within the handpiece is connected to the channel. The drive mechanism is configured to rotate the channel when actuated by a first actuator positioned on the handpiece (which can be on the distal end of the handpiece). A second actuator is connected to the gripping portion and the gripping mechanism. The second actuator is movable between a relaxed position and a compressed position. The user can operate both first and second actuators with the same handpiece grip. The gripping portion and second actuator are rotatable relative to the housing and first actuator.

  • Patent number: 5687849
Abstract: A cassette for supporting a plurality of cylindrically-shaped containers (e.g., test tubes) of randomly varying diameters in spaced parallel relationship includes a frame supporting a plurality of tube centering assemblies in side-by-side relationship. Each tube-centering assembly comprises a housing defining a through opening for receiving a container, and a pair of cooperating collar members slidably mounted on the housing for movement towards and away from each other. Each of the collar members has an arcuate surface adapted to contact a side wall of a received container during the sliding movement thereof. A spring is provided to bias the collar members towards each other and towards engagement with the side wall of a received container, whereby the collar members cooperate in supporting a received container therebetween.
