Publication number: 20200061485Abstract: A throwing toy that can simulate the throwing of a weapon. The throwing toy has a head and a handle that are molded from a soft polymeric foam. Reinforcement elements can be molded into the foam to provide structural integrity. The head of the toy has a face surface, a rear surface, a top surface, and a bottom surface. The handle extends from the bottom surface of the head. When the throwing toy is thrown toward a target, one of the surfaces of the head is likely to impact the target. Contact connectors, such as suction cups, are affixed to at least one of the surfaces of the head. The contact connectors are set at different positions and preferably at different angles to provide contact attachments across a wide range of contact angles.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 21, 2019Publication date: February 27, 2020Inventors: Matthew B. Publication number: 20190378483Abstract: Techniques are provided for generating an output file. One technique involves the steps of generating audio or MIDI content blocks from one or more musical performances; receiving an input file having audio or MIDI music content; generating a harmonic chord map for the input file; using the harmonic chord map to automatically select a subset of the audio or MIDI content blocks, and generating the output file by combining the selected subset of content blocks and the input file. This technique may enable the creation of unique and new musical accompaniments by re-purposing audio or MIDI content from back catalogs and/or out-takes of musical works. The new arrangement may be provided in multiple music styles, genres, or moods and may contain performances from multiple musical instruments, which may be pre-recorded from live instrument performances and/or of MIDI generated musical content.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 23, 2019Publication date: December 12, 2019Inventor: Michael John Kiely

Publication number: 20180076913Abstract: A system and method for generating an audio output file are provided. The method includes using one or more processors to perform steps of: receiving audio tracks, each audio track created according to audio parameters; separating each audio track into at least one selectable audio block, each audio block including audio content from a musical instrument involved in creating the audio track; assigning a unique identifier to each audio block; using the unique identifiers to select audio blocks, and generating the audio output by combining the audio blocks. The present invention prevents the use of the same combination of audio blocks in the generation of audio output to ensure that the audio output files generated a sufficiently unique. Also provided are audio file recording, editing and mixing modules enabling a user to have full creative control over mix and other parameters to modify as desired the audio file generated.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 31, 2017Publication date: March 15, 2018Inventors: Michael John Kiely, Conor Tee

Patent number: 7845082Abstract: A hand tool for cutting includes a first handle, a second handle pivotably connected to the first handle, and a cutting head including a fixed first blade and a pivotable second blade to provide cutting action with the first blade. The first and second handles are movable between a fully retracted configuration and a fully extended configuration to selectively adjust the length of the handles. The cutting head is selectively rotatable about a central longitudinal axis and carries the blades upon rotation of the cutting head to move the blades between a plurality of different orientations relative to the first and second handles. The cutting head includes a connector operably connecting the second handle and the second blade so that pivoting motion of the second handle moves the second blade relative to the first blade to provide cutting action therebetween.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 2005Date of Patent: December 7, 2010Assignee: Ames True Temper, Inc.Inventors: David Demar, Thomas VanDyk, Roland Charriez, Michael Ballone, John Kiely, Keith Kristiansen, Melissa Fisher, Brian J. Patent number: 7647703Abstract: A bulb planter includes a pair of blade halves cooperating to form a tubular tool head and a molded plastic handle body forming a pair of handles. The blade halves are preferably metal and riveted to the handle body. The handle body forms a living hinge for selectively pivoting the blade halves upon movement of the handles. The blade halves pivot toward and away from each other between a soil plug cutting position and a soil plug releasing position upon movement of the handles. A resilient member biases the blade halves toward the soil plug cutting position. The resilient member is preferably an elastomer ring encircling the blade halves. The handles extend in opposed directions substantially perpendicular to a central longitudinal axis and are manually movable against the bias of the resilient member to move the blade halves to the soil plug release position.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 2005Date of Patent: January 19, 2010Assignee: Ames True Temper, Inc.Inventors: David Demar, Thomas VanDyk, Roland Charriez, Michael Ballone, John Kiely, Keith Kristiansen, Melissa Fisher, Brian J.
