  • Patent number: 9277949
Abstract: An antioxidant combined with UHMWPE prior to subjecting the UHMWPE to crosslinking irradiation. In one exemplary embodiment, the antioxidant is tocopherol. After the antioxidant is combined with the UHMWPE, the resulting blend may be formed into slabs, bar stock, and/or incorporated into a substrate, such as a metal, for example. The resulting product may then be subjected to crosslinking irradiation. In one exemplary embodiment, the UHMWPE blend is preheated prior to subjecting the same to crosslinking irradiation. Once irradiated, the UHMWPE blended product may be machined, packaged, and sterilized in accordance with conventional techniques.

  • Patent number: 9226059
Abstract: A solar powered digital music player for a grave system is a digital music player assembly that is adapted for use with a grave marker and a corresponding casket. The casket may have at least one interior speaker. An electronic digital music player is located in a secure box near the bottom of the grave marker. An external jack on the grave marker accesses the electronic digital music player in the grave marker. Internally, the grave marker is molded with the first conductive wires which are the solar panel power cord and the headphone jack wire harness internally cast and extending to the digital music player in the secure box within the grave marker, and through the bottom of the grave marker to a coupler. The plurality of second conductive wires, bound in a harness, connect the casket to the electronic digital music player located in the grave marker.

  • Publication number: 20150300181
Abstract: A turbomachine aerofoil blade has an aerofoil body portion and a dovetail root fixing at the base of the aerofoil body portion which slides, in use, into a correspondingly shaped slot of a rotor of the turbomachine. The dovetail root fixing has a neck portion, and support flanks engage with matching angled surfaces of the slot under centrifugal loading of the aerofoil blade to support the aerofoil blade on the rotor. The neck portion is shaped such that a rotational adjustment of the aerofoil blade relative to its angular position when supported under centrifugal loading is needed to provide adequate clearance at the neck portion to allow the dovetail root fixing to slide into the slot. On centrifugal loading the engagement of the support flanks with the matching angled surfaces of the slot forces a reversal of the rotational adjustment and reduces the clearance at the neck portion.

  • Patent number: 9065685
Abstract: In an example embodiment, an IP phone is connected to a network switch that has an established communications channel to a call control server. The network switch acts as a proxy for the phone exchanging registration information that in effect keeps the phone registered while the phone itself can go to sleep as defined by periods of the day, periods where the phone is unused, or presence, which can then wake-up quickly with assistance from the switch. If the switch is not able to act as proxy, the phone can switch from sleep mode to “wake” up mode at predetermined intervals, such as every 30 seconds, in order to respond to keep alive packets from the call control server.
