  • Patent number: 7044168
Abstract: A hose comprising a core layer, an elastomeric friction layer overlaying the core layer, at least one reinforcement layer overlaying the friction layer, and a cover layer overlaying the at least one reinforcement layer, wherein the core layer is comprised of a blend of two different non-plasticized polyamides.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 8, 2004
Date of Patent: May 16, 2006
Assignee: The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company
Inventors: Reji Paul Wilson, Pradeep Dattatraya Nadkarni, Robert John Kozak
  • Patent number: 6910876
Abstract: A method of forming a curved hose and a mandrel for forming a curved hose is disclosed. A hose length is inserted onto a multi-legged mandrel to form a curved hose. The mandrel has at least two legs and the opposing ends of the hose are placed on the mandrel legs such that a portion of the hose is unsupported by an internal mandrel. The unsupported portion of the hose may be straight or may be looped to form a more complexly curved hose. The unsupported portion of the hose may also be held in position by an external mandrel.

  • Patent number: 4050502
Abstract: An arrangement is provided for feeding a liquid alloyed metal under protective atmosphere into a high speed continuous casting machine for casting a strip of alloyed metal, preferably calcium lead which is subsequently formed into battery grids and the like. The arrangement includes atmosphere tight holding and melting pots constructed of steel plates with submerged electrical heating elements, a level control arrangement for the liquid baths therein and a skid ramp in the melting pot for charging metal hogs therein.

  • Patent number: 4024687
Abstract: An architectural system comprises a number of free-standing wall modules of cruciform configuration, with each of the wall modules having a bearing surface adjacent the end of each of its arms. A square or rectangular supporting beam arrangement or network is disposed with each of its corners engaging one of the bearing surfaces. A floor/ceiling module is supported on the beam arrangement. The cruciform wall modules are oriented and spaced from one another to define a floor area extending therebetween and having its perimetric edges angularly displaced about 45.degree. relative to the perimetric edges of the beam network such that the floor area is substantially wider than the length of one of the beam segments comprising the beam network.

  • Patent number: 4010939
Abstract: An arrangement is provided for feeding a liquid alloyed metal under protective atmosphere into a high speed continuous casting machine for casting a strip of alloyed metal, preferably calcium lead which is subsequently formed into battery grids and the like. The arrangement includes a melting pot and specifically a resilient skid ramp in the melting pot which permits metal hogs to be charged into the melting pot in a nondestructive manner while supporting the hog at a fixed level in the melting pot bath to insure homogeneous mixing of the alloyed elements in the hog during melting thereof.

  • Patent number: 4001986
Abstract: A preformed structural panel comprises a generally rectangular precast slab having sufficient thickness for load-carrying capability, and a joining arrangement extending across the slab and spaced from opposed sides thereof. About one-half of the joining arrangement is a tapered solid region and the remainder of the joining arrangement is a complementarily tapered void region. The solid joining region is capable of interfitting tightly within the void region of a similar structural panel, and the void region is capable of receiving the solid region of the other panel in tightly interfitting relationship, so that the structural panel when thus interfitted is positively prevented from angular displacement with respect to such other panel. The invention also contemplates unique building structures constructed from such panels.
