Abstract: A radar detector accessory permits wireless connectivity to a smartphone to enhance or improve upon the existing radar detector, by providing enhanced display of the detector status and control of the detector, including storage of false alerts and locations of interest, storage and alerting to known hazards such as speed cameras and redlight cameras. Further, using the smartphone data connection, events of interest are reported to a central server, such as radar/laser detections, police activity sightings and mobile camera sightings, and remotely reported events of these types are delivered to the smartphone for delivery as alerts to the local driver.

Abstract: A modular vehicular storage system includes a sub-frame coupleable to a vehicle chassis. The sub-frame is selectively configurable between an expanded and retracted position to accommodate a variety of vehicle widths. At least one storage element, such as a storage container, is mountable to the sub-frame for securing a number of items. The storage container may include a base and a cover movably coupled to the base between an open and closed position for selective access to the interior of the storage container. The sub-frame may accommodate any number of alternative storage elements and may be configured to simultaneously support a number of different storage elements at a given time to provide the user with a number of storage options.

An example first or main filter cartridge is described which includes a media pack comprising strips of fluted material secured to facing sheets, oriented in a stack. The media pack defines opposite inlet and outlet flow faces, with flutes extending in a direction therebetween. The media pack is non-removably secured within a filter cartridge housing, at a location between opposite sections of a shell, typically secured thereto with an adhesive. The shell also defines a closed end, spaced from, but in overlap with, the outlet end face of the media pack. The closed end is typically curved and the shell typically provides either a d/b-shape or a u-shape. The filter includes an end member, with a outlet flow aperture arrangement therein, allowing for outlet flow from the filter cartridge in a general direction orthogonal to air flow through the media pack.

The layer font manager will automate the creation of copies of a text object selected within the typesetting application, and assign to those copies other fonts from the same layer font family as that of the original object. The layer font manager will additionally bind the original object together with the copies into a composite unit, keeping all copies precisely aligned. This embodiment will simplify the process of using layer fonts to set type with multiple-color characters.

Abstract: A GPS enabled radar detector incorporated in a general purpose navigation device dynamically handles radar sources based upon previously-stored geographically-referenced information on such sources and data from the GPS receiver. The detector may ignore detections received in an area known to contain a stationary source, or may only ignore specific frequencies or may handle frequencies differently based upon historic trends of spurious police radar signals at each frequency. Notification of the driver may take a variety of forms depending on the stored information, current operating modes, and vehicle speed. The device includes navigational functions as well. In one embodiment, the detector uses a transparent touch screen and a readily aligned mounting.
