  • Publication number: 20230131831
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for use with an electronic device for alignment of a medical tool for positioning a surgical hardware device. The apparatus includes a case to secure the electronic device such that the electronic device is secured to the case and does not move relative to the case. The case includes an opening to couple with at least a portion of the medical tool. The electronic device is secured relative to the medical tool through the coupling of the case to the at least the portion of the medical tool. The electronic device simulates a three-dimensional position of the surgical hardware device in a body using a diagnostic representation of at least a portion of the body, and the electronic device is secured in the case and coupled to the medical tool assists with the alignment of the medical.

  • Publication number: 20220241018
Abstract: Systems and methods for simulating a three-dimensional orientation of a surgical hardware device about an insertion point of an anatomy using a diagnostic representation of the anatomy. The method including displaying the diagnostic representation of the anatomy; displaying a movable marker to represent the insertion point in the anatomy along with the diagnostic representation of the anatomy; moving the movable marker to the insertion point at a desired location in the anatomy as represented by the diagnostic representation of the anatomy; displaying a simulated surgical hardware device, along with the diagnostic representation of the anatomy, aligned with the insertion point of the diagnostic representation of the anatomy; rotating the simulated surgical hardware device about the insertion point; and designating the orientation of the surgical hardware device on the diagnostic representation of the anatomy relative to the insertion point at the desired location.

  • Publication number: 20220237817
Abstract: Systems and methods for artificial intelligence based, such as machine learning-based, image analysis and suggestion of optimal or desired placement of surgical appliances and/or medical alignment devices, with, in certain implementations, supervised learning provided by users. A computing device may receive a target image captured via an image sensor; process the captured target image to identify anatomical features within the captured target image; calculate, via a trained neural network or artificial intelligence algorithm, a placement orientation and position of a virtual surgical appliance and/or desired item within the identified anatomical features; and render, on a display screen, the captured target image and the virtual surgical appliance and/or desired item at the calculated placement orientation and position.

  • Publication number: 20220201199
Abstract: Orientation calibration system for image capture is disclosed that may include a camera to capture a target image, a display screen to display the image, an orientation sensor to determine at least two axes of orientation of the system, and a processor. The processor configured to determine the present orientation of the system using the orientation sensor, display a portion of present and a desired orientation of the system, receive a request to capture the target image, and capture the target image using the camera in response to receiving the request to capture the target image, and when a difference between the present orientation of the system and desired orientation of system is within a threshold. The system may be used to adjust/orient a display monitor to ensure desired alignment to accurately capture image. Methods for aligning/orienting a display monitor (imaging source), and the orientation calibration system are provided.

  • Publication number: 20220192756
Abstract: An attachment apparatus is disclosed to secure a medical alignment device to align a tool. The attachment apparatus may include a base wall providing a base alignment surface for abutting or positioned adjacent a first portion or first surface of the medical alignment device. The medical alignment device operable to provide an alignment of a tool, such as a three-dimensional alignment angle of the tool, and to provide a notification when the medical alignment device aligned with the tool as desired. The attachment apparatus may include a first side wall providing a side alignment surface for abutting or adjacent a second portion or surface of the medical alignment device; and an alignment support configured to align with a portion of the tool. A method is disclosed for aligning a tool or object using an attachment apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20220000523
Abstract: An adjustable cervical link system that includes a plurality of cervical links for adjustable fixation to articles of a patient's cervical spine, and a connecting assembly having a generally rectangular loop shape defining a substantially open interior therebetween. Each cervical link has a plurality of circular holes each arranged to receive a screw thereby securing the cervical link to the respective article of a patient's cervical spine at a bottom portion of the cervical link. Each cervical link has a plurality of recessed portion along a top portion of the cervical link. Each recessed portion has a generally U-shaped cross-section formed by a bottom portion and a pair of spaced apart side walls. The connecting assembly is arranged to be placed in and frictionally engage the U-shaped cross-section of the recessed portions.
