  • Publication number: 20220000523
Abstract: An adjustable cervical link system that includes a plurality of cervical links for adjustable fixation to articles of a patient's cervical spine, and a connecting assembly having a generally rectangular loop shape defining a substantially open interior therebetween. Each cervical link has a plurality of circular holes each arranged to receive a screw thereby securing the cervical link to the respective article of a patient's cervical spine at a bottom portion of the cervical link. Each cervical link has a plurality of recessed portion along a top portion of the cervical link. Each recessed portion has a generally U-shaped cross-section formed by a bottom portion and a pair of spaced apart side walls. The connecting assembly is arranged to be placed in and frictionally engage the U-shaped cross-section of the recessed portions.

  • Publication number: 20200232419
Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for a fuel bowl to supply liquid fuel to a carburetor. The fuel bowl comprises a float chamber and a fuel inlet cavity which receives a fuel delivery insert. The fuel delivery insert receives a fuel inlet valve and comprises passages to direct incoming fuel to a bottom portion of the float chamber. A float comprises an elongate member rotatably hinged within a float cavity of the fuel delivery insert, such that the float rises according to a quantity of fuel within the float chamber. The fuel inlet valve supplies liquid fuel to the float chamber by way of the passages according to the operation of the float within the float chamber. A ventilation chamber allows air and fuel vapors to exit as liquid fuel enters the float chamber while preventing liquid fuel from entering into the carburetor.

  • Patent number: 9187828
Abstract: A coating is formed by chemical vapor deposition an electrically heated filament which is passed through an end plate into a deposition chamber and leaves the deposition chamber through a similar end plate. The filament slides through an entrance passage into the deposition chamber. The entrance passage is formed from misaligned portions which press the filament into direct electrical contact with their walls. A tube communicates with a chamber between the ends of the passage and acts as a sealing means to prevent gas escaping from the deposition chamber through the entrance passage. The end plate operates in exactly the same manner. As no mercury or a low-melting point eutectic alloy is used, no contaminants associated therewith are produced and the resultant coated filament is free of such contaminants.

  • Publication number: 20140343460
Abstract: Systems and methods for performing gait analysis of a subject are provided. A method includes obtaining a plurality of measurement sets for a subject, each of the plurality of measurement sets including inertial measurements obtained from a sensor device associated with a different one of a plurality of segments of the subject and calculating a sensor orientation for the sensor device associated with each of the plurality of segments based at least on a portion of a corresponding one the plurality of measurement sets. The method also includes computing an estimate of a segment orientation for each of the plurality of segments based on a data fusion process applied at each of the plurality of segments, where the data fusion process includes combining at least a one of the plurality measurement sets and the corresponding sensor orientation to estimate the segment orientation.

  • Patent number: 8562242
Abstract: A spline structure, in the form of an aeronautical brake drive bar, has wheel attachment points at its ends for engaging a wheel rim. Each wheel carries a regularly spaced series of these drive bars for engaging friction discs carried by the wheel hub. The main body of each brake drive bar is formed from titanium internally reinforced by composite blocks each comprising a bundle of silicon carbide fibers contained in a matrix that is diffusion bonded within the main body. Other spline structures can be formed in a similar manner.

  • Publication number: 20100047475
Abstract: A coating is formed by chemical vapour deposition an electrically heated filament which is passed through an end plate into a deposition chamber and leaves the deposition chamber through a similar end plate. The filament slides through an entrance passage into a first electrode chamber, around part of a wheel electrode into the deposition chamber. The passage of the filament around the wheel electrode provides adequate direct electrical contact. The end plate operates in exactly the same manner. As no mercury or a low-melting point eutectic alloy is used, no contaminants associated therewith are produced and the resultant coated filament is free of such contaminants.

  • Patent number: 6348782
Abstract: An uninterruptable power supply system for producing an AC voltage from at least one of a DC power source or an AC power source includes an input terminal configured to receive an AC voltage from an AC power source, and an inverter operative to produce an AC voltage at an output thereof from a DC power source. A ferroresonant transformer circuit includes a transformer having an input winding, a output winding, and a third winding that forms part of a resonant circuit that produces saturation in the output winding when an AC voltage on the input winding exceeds a predetermined amplitude. A transformer input control circuit is coupled to the input terminal and to the inverter output and is operative to couple at least one of the input terminal and the inverter output to the input winding.

  • Patent number: 5711983
Abstract: A biomass is provided which consists essentially of cells of dinoflagellates of the class Dinophyceae which have been cultivated to produce high cell mass and high DHA content. Biomass consisting of cells of Crypthecodinium cohnii is preferred. The cells are cultivated in an aerobic fermentor to achieve a cell density of a least 10 grams biomass per liter of nutrient solution by maintaining in the fermentor a dissolved oxygen level of at least about 10% of air saturation, and by inducing a stationary phase with a limiting nitrogen source in the nutrient solution. Under these conditions a single cell oil which contains at least 20% docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) in the triglyceride form at a concentration of at least about 1.5 grams per liter of nutrient solution is produced in the biomass. The biomass is suitable as an aquaculture feed.
