  • Patent number: 5038529
Abstract: A roof structure having a frame including lower elongate frame members arranged in spaced parallel relation and supporting upper elongate frame members arranged in spaced parallel relation along and extending transverse to the lower members, a roof supported on the upper members, and a condensate collection system for collecting and disposing of condensate running along the underside of the roof including upwardly opening condensate collection channels extending along the upper frame members disposed in condensate collecting relation to the underside of the roof, upwardly opening condensate drainage channels extending along the lower frame members, and means which both secure the frame members to one another at their intersections and conduct condensate from the collection channels to the drainage channels.

  • Patent number: 4847958
Abstract: A sheet gripping assembly for thin pliable sheet material, such as plastic film, having a channel shaped base member with a side opening through which may be inserted a fold of the sheet material to be secured, and innerlock and gripping bar members insertable into the base member through its side opening to assembled positions within the fold of sheet material within the base member wherein the sheet material is gripped between the base member and the innerlock and gripping bar members and the innerlock member resists expulsion of the gripping bar member from the base member by tension in the sheet material being gripped. According to an important feature of the invention, the innerlock member has a lip which projects externally of the base member through its side opening and the innerlock member is laterally flexible by finger pressure on the lip to facilitate insertion of the innerlock member into and removal of the innerlock member from the base member.

  • Patent number: 4781127
Abstract: A rolling bench for storing plants in greenhouses and other applications. The rolling bench has a platform stop supported on a base for edgewise movement beyond opposite sides of and restrained against tilting relative to the base by means of an improved roller glide system. This improved roller glide system has parallel rollers disposed between and in rolling contact with the base and top and spacers for retaining the rollers in spaced relation, such that during edgewise adjustment of the top, the rollers undergo rolling movement relative to the base and top along the direction line of movement of the top with the rollers retained in proper spaced relation to rollably support the top throughout a full range of movement.

  • Patent number: 4769877
Abstract: A sheet gripping assembly for gripping either single ply or double ply thin pliable sheet material such as plastic film. The gripping assembly has a mating channel to be secured to a support with the sheet material spanning the open channel side, and a channel-shaped cap which snaps over the base channel to grip the sheet material between the channel and cap in such a way that edgewise tension in the sheet material tending to separate the cap from the base channel urges their sheet gripping edges into more firm sheet gripping relation, thereby to more firmly grip the sheet material. The primary application of the invention is securing plastic film to an open frame structure to form a greenhouse enclosure.

  • Patent number: 4726411
Abstract: A sheet gripping assembly for thin pliable sheet material, such as plastic film comprising either a single sheet or two separate sheets disposed face to face. The sheet gripping assembly has an elongate base with a longitudinal channel opening through one longitudinal side of the base for receiving the sheet material to be gripped and a sheet lock insert which coacts with the channel side walls to grip the sheet material between interengaging longitudinal edge formations on the sidewalls and insert. A second sheet lock insert is provided to secure one sheet of dual sheet material within a second channel in the base.

  • Patent number: 4676034
Abstract: A roof structure which includes a plurality of first structural members disposed in spaced generally parallel relationship. Each of the first generally parallel members carry an associated roofing material and each has a trough shaped lip disposed proximate to the associated roofing material with the concave face thereof facing the associated roofing material. A plurality of second structural members are disposed in spaced generally parallel relationship and disposed in generally perpendicular relationship to the first structural members. The second structural members each have a trough shaped member having a concave face disposed facing the associated roofing material. The second structural members are each disposed at a lower elevation than at least a part of the first structural members. Structure is provided for directing condensate from the lip of each of the first structural members to at least one of the trough shaped members.

  • Patent number: 4554773
Abstract: A captive nut plate for engagement by a screw useful when attaching corrugated composite or plastic sheets together includes a semi-cylindrical body shaped to match the curvature of a corrugated sheet. A pair of upstanding irregular pentagon-shaped piercing prongs are centrally positioned along curved edges of the body and are aligned with a central hole therethrough, for receiving the screw. The captive nut plate is installed by positioning it in a convex pocket on a semi-cylindrical tool in proper alignment with a concave edge corrugation of a first sheet. A soft mallet is then used to drive the corrugated material down onto the nut plate so that the upstanding prongs pierce through the sheet. The irregular pentagon-shape of the prongs assures that the prongs extend through the sheet beyond their widest portion. The prongs are then peened over to provide a permanent installation on the first sheet.

  • Patent number: 4103401
Abstract: A sheet gripping assembly for thin pliable sheet material, such as plastic film, having a laterally opening channel-like base member and a pair of sheet gripping members insertable into the base member channel through its open side to grip sheet material in the channel in a manner which precludes dislodging of the gripping members from the channel by tension in the sheet material.
