  • Patent number: 6363556
Abstract: A linkage for an articulating bed comprises a first latch arm which extends from the knee section of an articulating bed. A latch bar is connected between the first latch arm and the back section of the articulating bed. The latch bar is displaceable between a first position and a second position. The latch arm is engageable with the latch bar when the latch bar is in the first position to maintain movement of the back section independent relative to the knee section. The latch arm is engageable with the latch bar when the latch bar is in the second position to interconnect the back section and the knee section.

  • Patent number: 6101648
Abstract: A ramp assembly for an articulating bed for preventing interference of a movable bed component with a stationary bed component comprises a ramp and a contact member. The ramp is attached to either the movable bed component or the stationary bed component. The contact member is connected to the other bed component in a manner such that it contacts the ramp. • Patent number: 5347682
Abstract: A two position floor lock and caster assembly for a bed or the like includes a bracket adapted to be secured to the bed frame. A pair of links have ends pivoted to the bracket and free ends. A socket is pivotally joined to the free ends of the links so that rotation of the links raises and lowers the socket. A caster may be secured to the bracket or attached to the socket. A foot or floor lock may be secured to the bracket or the socket. A crank assembly is operatively connected to the links for raising and lowering the socket to move the floor lock or caster into operative engagement with the floor.
