  • Patent number: 9185855
Abstract: An attachment with a back support frame adaptable for use with a variety of loaders for use in tree removal and field reclamation. The back support frame has a curved front wall serving as a moldboard and a bottom wall with a cutting edge for grading dirt. A stationary lower jaw generally trapezoidal in plan is attached to the back support frame and is made of a plurality of cross braced blades forming a see-through grid through which dirt may be sifted with spade-tipped teeth at a distal end for digging and replaceable strips of saw teeth on the outer blades for ripping tree roots. A movable upper jaw with obliquely mounted grapple arms is mounted on the back support frame and is independently movable towards and away from the stationary lower jaw for applying three-point pressure to a root ball or tree trunk.

  • Publication number: 20120183668
Abstract: A method of microbial cell disruption for use in making an aquaculture feed composition is disclosed, wherein a microbial biomass having a moisture level less than 10 weight percent and comprising oil-containing microbes is disrupted, resulting in a disruption efficiency of at least 30% of the oil-containing microbes to produce a disrupted microbial biomass, and, the disrupted microbial biomass is mixed with at least one aquaculture feed component to form an aquaculture feed composition.

  • Publication number: 20100083628
Abstract: A grass treatment unit with an adjustable hood for use with various grass treatment inserts of different diameter for verticutting, scarifying, etc. The grass treatment unit includes a frame with sidewalls mounted on front and rear rollers. An open topped bearing socket is attached to each of the sidewalls for mounting the grass treatment insert for rotation. A hood mounted on a slide for spacing the hood in a selected position with respect to the grass treatment insert. Spring plungers are provided for locking the grass treatment insert in the bearing sockets and for locking the slide in a selected position on the sidewalls. The grass treatment insert has a shaft with ball bearings on opposite ends which are housed within a bearing housing. A handle is provided on the bearing housing for lifting the grass treatment insert.

  • Patent number: 7624560
Abstract: A depth of cut/height adjuster for a grass treatment insert mounted to rotate in a frame supported on front and rear rollers. The adjuster permits an operator to vary the height of a frame relative to the front roller and thereby adjust the depth of cut of the grass treatment insert. The depth/height adjuster includes a frame mount block for attachment to the frame. The frame mounting block has a throughbore in which is threaded a shaft. A roller mounting block for attachment to the front roller is rotatably mounted on a lower end of the shaft. A vertical gauge attached to the roller mounting block when aligned with a marker on the frame mounting block (such as the bottom edge) indicates the relative distance between the roller mounting block and frame mounting block which is correlated with a height setting of the grass treatment insert.

  • Patent number: 7588389
Abstract: A vibratory roller unit with a framework having a rotating shaft and a drum. The shaft has a fixed inboard eccentric weight and an outboard eccentric weight rotatable with respect to the fixed inboard eccentric weight for varying the amplitude of the vibrations on the drum. A powered lawn mower of the type adapted for mowing greens on golf courses and having a powered vertically adjustable reel cutting unit is converted into a greensroller when a vibratory roller unit is substituted for each reel cutting unit.

  • Patent number: 6659191
Abstract: A vibratory device (10) for dispersing a topdressing and correcting the grain in greens. A deck (30) is supported by a frame (18) with a linkage (36) for raising and lowering the deck (30) with rest to the green. A shaker tray (76) is vibrated within the deck (30) by a vibrator (108) attached to the deck (30). A brush frame (94) is carried within the shaker tray (76) for vibrating against the tips of the grass blades in the green to shake the topdressing into the thatch and to straighten the grass blades. The linkage (36) to raise and lower the deck permits height adjustment of the brush frame (94) with respect to the grass blades so that the brush bristles (106) just tickle the tips minimizing injury to the grass.

  • Patent number: 6467245
Abstract: A vibratory roller unit for replacement of a reel cutting unit in a multiple deck lawn mower for conversion of the mower into a greensroller. The vibratory roller unit has a frame, vibratory roller and a power train. The frame, vibratory roller and power train are universal. Different motor attachment devices and lift and tow devices are provided to customize the vibratory roller unit for use with different makes and models of lawn mowers. The power train includes a jack shaft such that a motor for driving the vibratory roller is mounted on a side of the frame opposite a power take-off for driving the vibratory roller.

  • Patent number: 6200066
Abstract: A self-propelled vibratory greensroller for smoothing a green, improving ball roll distance and striping. The greensroller has a vibratory roller and a power roller mounted in a frame with the vibratory roller in front of and parallel to the power roller. A prime mover mounted on the frame has a gear box with two power-take offs for connection to a first and second power train. The power roller is divided into right and left sections connected with a differential such that the roller sections do not scuff the green. The first power train includes, a centrifugal clutch which starts the vibratory roller into vibration at some preselected engine speed. The second power train includes a variable speed pulley providing infinite ground speed control for the power roller.

  • Patent number: 5261213
Abstract: A powered lawn mower of the type particularly adapted for mowing greens on golf courses and having a powered vertically adjustable reel cutting unit is converted into a greensroller when a vibratory roller unit is substituted for each reel cutting unit. The vibratory roller unit has a drum, an unbalanced shaft and a framework. The unbalanced shaft is rotatably mounted within the drum and the drum is rotatably mounted in the framework. When the greensroller is powered over a golf green, it provides a fast, smooth, consistent and somewhat firm playing surface without scalping or otherwise compromising the health of the grass.

  • Patent number: 4423444
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for generating a television signal including a discrete electronic audio signal in synchronization with a discrete electronic video signal. A magnetic audio tape having a first track of digital information and a second track of audio information, the tracks being in synchronization, is played on an audio tape deck. The first track of digital information is converted into a corresponding digital electronic signal and the second track of information is simultaneously converted into the discrete electronic audio output of the television signal. A video character generator receives at its input the digital electronic signal from the first track and converts the digital electronic signal into the discrete video signal of the television signal.
