  • Patent number: 7201713
Abstract: A roller assembly for use, for example, in agricultural machines where the roller assembly has an exterior surface portion adapted to contact a conveyor element supporting the agricultural products and a bearing sub-assembly positioned about an axle in the center of the roller assembly. The bearing sub-assembly has at least one bearing, at least one sealing element having an elastomeric sealing portion positioned outboard of the bearing and at least one standoff also positioned outboard of the bearing. There may be a plug in place of one of the sealing elements, the plug being elastomeric and configured to make a compression fit with the hub.

The standoffs have grooves in their outer dimension adapted to receive the elastomeric sealing portion. The diameter of the standoffs are about the same as the diameter of the elastomeric sealing portion. The horizontal length of the standoffs may also be chosen so as to offset the exterior surface portion of the assembly a predetermined distance with respect to the conveyor element.

  • Patent number: 5722888
Abstract: A roller assembly is disclosed for an agricultural conveyor apparatus including an endless conveyor supported on one or more roller assemblies mounted on a support frame. The roller assembly includes a conveyor support roller having a central bore formed therein and bearing supports formed on the roller for receiving a clamping force imparted by a pair of opposing bearings that support the roller. An axle is mountable to a frame portion of an agricultural conveyor apparatus and extends through the central bore of the roller. A clamping bearing assembly is provided for rotably securing the conveyor support roller to the axle. The bearing assembly includes a pair of bearings having radial inner portions secured for axial adjustment on the axle and radial outer portions configured to apply a clamping force on the bearing support portions of the roller.

  • Patent number: 5454460
Abstract: A roller assembly having modular replaceable and interchangeable components for use in agricultural machines having endless conveyors with edges which pass over or under roller assemblies. The roller assembly has a long wearing resilient outer tire which is secured to a hub assembly. The hub assembly is comprised of two hub members having central bores forming a cavity within which resides bearings. The bearings are selectively sealed with a resilient washer element. A spacer on each respective end of the roller assembly is optionally added to accommodate mounting to a machine frame and for repair. An optional flange attaches on one side of the roller to help align the conveyor. The modular components may be packaged to provide a kit of parts usable for modular assembly, repair, or replacement purposes.

  • Patent number: 4300796
Abstract: First and second elongated large and small diameter tubular members rotatably and telescopically engaged with each other are provided. The first and second members include exposed remote ends with one of the remote ends including a terminal end structure adapted to frictionally engage a floor surface and the other remote end includes a terminal end adapted to engage the shank portion of the doorknob. The large diameter elongated member is provided with a pair of diametrically opposite parallel outwardly opening first slots formed therein and the small diameter elongated member is provided with longitudinally spaced pairs of corresponding second slots with which the first pair of slots are selectively registrable.
