    Abstract: Products having a real wood appearance from synthetic resins, are produced by creating a mold from a wood plug having a grain pattern of the type desired; treating the wood to the extent necessary to open the grain pores as desired; creating a mold from an impression from the wood plug; molding products from the mold, applying a pigmented viscous paste to the products and wiping the paste on the products to produce the desired finish color; the paste containing dryers to promote prompt drying; and applying a clear finish coat over the surfaces of the products.
