  • Publication number: 20150238601
Abstract: The invention provides methods of treatment of ocular disorders, including ocular disease with an angiogenic component. In certain embodiments, the treatment comprises administration of a ROCK2 inhibitor and an angiogenesis inhibitor. In certain embodiments, the ROCK2 inhibitor is ROCK2 selective. In certain embodiments, the angiogenesis inhibitor is a VEGF antagonist, for example, and VEGFR2 antibody.

  • Publication number: 20140326072
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to methods, devices, and systems for determining occupancy of a user. One method to determine occupancy of a user includes sensing a change in resistance of a sensor element of an occupancy sensor, correlating the change in resistance to a force transmitted to the occupancy sensor, and determining an occupancy status of a user based on the force transmitted.

  • Patent number: 7998973
Abstract: A method of treating a tumor in a human patient is disclosed. The method comprises co-administering to the patient: (a) a dose of 1.5 mg tivozanib per day; and (b) a dose of 25 mg temsirolimus per week. In some embodiments of the invention, the tivozanib is administered on a repeating schedule of one dose per day for three weeks, followed by one week without tivozanib administration. The disclosed method is particularly suitable for treatment of renal cell carcinoma.

  • Patent number: 4740965
Abstract: A Local Area Network consists of a number of stations connected together by a transmission line, each station having a transmitter and a receiver. A transmitter generates a sequence of information signals having individual message portions separated from one another by flag signals, each message portion having a predetermined number of symbols. A receiver processes a message portion by analyzing the content of each section formed by dividing the message portion into the predetermined number of equal parts. The receiver includes stores and, a detector, a signal-divider and a unit which determines a representative value.

  • Patent number: 4696423
Abstract: A hollow sheet metal steel fastener for joining wood and/or wood product assemblies subjected to high shear and bending stress loadings. The fastener comprises an elongated, equilateral triangular tubular shaft with continuous stiffening ribs along the centerlines of the three sides to effect and approximate a six pointed star form when viewed in cross section providing a uniquely rigid shaft to withstand lateral shear forces across the transverse section and longitudinal bending stresses. The fastener further comprises three integral, uniquely formed flanges at opposite ends of the shaft with three driving head flanges at one end so formed as to mate with a specially designed driving tool to enable mechanically powered driving, said tool having a rounded, concave driving head as required to resistance drive the fastener into a lesser diameter lead hole in the host materials.

  • Patent number: 4275444
Abstract: In CT scanners signals representing attenuation of radiation along beam paths through the patient may be processed by a convolution technique to give radiation absorption values for a matrix of elements in a region of interest. It the beams are distributed in a fan-shape from a focus the convolution can be applied but the signals need to be weighted by a factor related to the distance of a respective matrix element from the focus. By consideration of the geometry of a CT scanner of this kind it has been found that the weighting may be achieved more efficiently if the signals for all beams are preweighted by a factor related to the angular position of the beam in the fan, leaving only a simple scaling factor which needs to be applied for each martrix element.
