    Abstract: The disclosure is directed toward presses which may comprise planar or curved press plates that can be driven toward and away from each other such as via linear reciprocating movement to press filter media sheets as opposed to using rolls. The press plates can create such features as embossments that may have the ridges and grooves, brands, creases or other such features. The press can create pleated packs or individual panels for non-pleated packs. Additionally, a variety of embossed pleat packs, unique shapes, structural components and other pleat packs that may be formed by presses or other methodology are disclosed as well as filter cartridges using such pleat packs.

The wire cable includes a pair of conductors, a shield surrounding the conductors, and a dielectric structure configured to maintain a first predetermined spacing between the conductors and a second predetermined spacing between said the conductors said shield. The shield includes an inner shield conductor enclosing the dielectric structure, a ground conductor external to the inner shield conductor, extending generally parallel to the pair of conductors, an outer shield conductor enclosing the inner shield conductor and the ground conductor.

    Abstract: An electrical connector shield configured to be attached to a shielded wire cable having a conductive wire cable and a shield conductor surrounding the wire cable that is separated from the wire cable by an inner insulator. The shielded wire cable further has an insulative jacket surrounding the outer shield. The electrical shield connector includes a connection portion for connection with a corresponding mating electrical connector shield and an attachment portion having a conductor crimp wing for attachment to the outer shield and an insulator crimp wing for attachment to the insulative jacket. The insulator crimp wing defines a prong having a pointed end to penetrate the insulative jacket. The end of the prong penetrates the insulative jacket but does not penetrate the inner insulator. The connector shield may define a protruding triangular lock tang to engage a lock edge within a cavity of an electrical connector body.

    Abstract: A shielded electrical header assembly is provided. The header is configured to be coupled to a first connector connected to a shielded electrical cable and second connector. The header is also configured to be attached to an electrically conductive panel, such as an aluminum battery pack in a hybrid or electric vehicle. The header includes a conductive shield contact that connects the outer conductor of the shielded cable to the panel and a conductive outer connector body that is also connected to the panel and surrounds the terminals and the shield contact of the header, thus providing electromagnetic shielding to the terminals of the header and the connectors. The shield contact is formed of a sheet metal to provide a lower resistance connection between the outer conductor and the panel. A method of manufacturing such a header is also provided.

The male shield also defines a flexible contact adapted to closely engage an interior surface of the female exterior shield, thereby providing an electrical connection between the male and female shields. The flexible protrusion and the flexible contact flex along axes that are generally orthogonal to one another so the flexible contact interacts with the female exterior shield substantially independently of the flexible protrusion.

    Abstract: An electrical connector has a connect or shroud. A pin block disposed in the connector body supports a plurality of terminal pins that have head portions projecting out a forward end of the pin block and tail portions projecting out a rearward end of the pin block. The connector shroud has a socket at a forward end that receives a terminal stabilizer that is locked to the pin block to hold the terminal stabilizer and the pin block in assembly with the connector shroud to form a module. The module may include a block seal that can be sandwiched between the terminal stabilizer and the pin block during assembly of the module. The rear end of the connector shroud is truncated at an angle for a direct top down assembly of the module to a housing that has an attachment collar that is truncated at the same angle. The pin terminal tail portions are bent at a right angle and project through holes in a pin alignment member and a printed circuit board that are mounted inside the housing.

    Abstract: A pin terminal alignment system which serves to fix pin terminal spacing, provide indexable spacing and provide ease of installation. A pair of alignment bodies, each having a generally planar, elongated shape and preferably formed of plastic, each have a plurality of alignment holes formed therein, wherein each alignment hole is allocated to a respective pin terminal of a header assembly. The system preferably includes an abutting interaction between the alignment bodies and the header assembly which indexably spaces the bodies with respect to the header assembly, as well as with respect to a printed circuit board to the pin terminals connect. The rigidity and locating features provided by the terminal pin alignment system serve to ensure geometrical dimension and tolerance precision of the pins as a whole, and the pin terminals in particular, with respect to both the header assembly and the PCB.

    Abstract: An improved apparatus for plating interior surfaces of electrical terminals that are spaced apart and attached to a carrier strip is disclosed. The apparatus is comprised of strip feeding means which feeds the strip of terminals to a rotating mandrel which guides the terminals through a plating zone while they are plated, a source of electrolytic plating solution, and a source of electrical potential for applying electrical current flow from an anode through the solution to a cathode. The mandrel has a plurality of anode extensions located about its axis of rotation, said anode extensions being movable into and out of the interiors of the terminals that are against the mandrel. The mandrel further has a plurality of nozzles located about its axis of rotation, said nozzle being associated with but separate from said anode extensions.
