  • Publication number: 20050182941
Abstract: A system for processing multiple types of security schemes includes a server having a claims engine that extracts claim(s) from security token(s) and maps extracted claims to other claims. The term claim as used in this context is a statement about a token's subject. The claims engine can extract claim(s) from one or more different types of security tokens corresponding to the multiple security schemes. These extracted claim(s) can then be selectively mapped to other claims using mapping information that is accessible to the server. The security decision can then be based on the extracted and/or derived claim(s) rather than tokens. This system can thereby support multiple security schemes and simplify the security process for the user.

  • Publication number: 20050160433
Abstract: A method of testing an application program for multiple interfaces includes identifying one or more APIs that are common among the multiple interfaces. A test program for testing the application program at least with respect to the common API can be designed around the identified, common API. One or more values, such as a value and/or the value's isomorphisms, can be input into the test program so that a robust determination can be inferred from the output of the application program. The test program can be reconfigured easily for different APIs, thereby significantly minimizing the amount of testing that needs to be done, as well as the number of test programs that need to be written for an application program that can be accessed through multiple interfaces.

  • Publication number: 20050108384
Abstract: A method and apparatus are described for investigating the behavior of an environment by analyzing messages passed between participants in the environment. The environment can pertain to a network, a machine, a system, a software program, or other environment. The analysis can use any kind of analysis to group sequences of messages into a collection of related sequences. The results of the analysis may reveal anomalous conditions within the environment, or other features of the environment.

  • Publication number: 20050021971
Abstract: The restriction of particular resources includes providing a digital signature for unauthorized resources based on a structure-related parameter of the resource. Thus, attempts at circumventing recognition of such resource will likely result in altering the overall functionality of the resource. Further, such digital signatures are encoded in a critical file required for loading of a resource, thus ensuring that the identity of the resource is considered before execution thereof. Enforcement of the resource restriction includes generating a verification signature for a resource that requests loading. The verification signature is compared to the signature coded into the critical file, and a positive match results in the resource being blocked from loading.

  • Publication number: 20030061778
Abstract: A roof tile adapted for flat-packing includes on its under surface at least one region spaced from the or each hanging nib where the tile is deeper in cross-section than any other part of the tile. The underside of the or each region is configured so that when the tile is superposed on a second said tile, the tiles lie parallel and the underside lies in substantial contact with the upper surface of the second tile and prevents the hanging nib(s) of the first tile from contacting the upper surface of the second tile. By creating a region that is deeper than the depth at the hanging nibs, no load is borne by the nibs during stacking and the risk of the nibs breaking off during stacking and/or subsequent transportation is significantly reduced. In addition, because the tiles are specifically adapted to be flat-packed, the packs are particularly stable.

  • Patent number: 6230179
Abstract: A finite field multiplier with intrinsic modular reduction includes an interface unit (1208) that translates an n bit wide data path to a m bit wide data path where n is less than m. Also included is a finite field data unit (1204) with m bit wide registers that is coupled to a finte field control unit (1202). The finite field control unit (1202) includes a microsequencer (1402) and a finite state machine multiplier (1404). The microsequencer (1402) controls the finite state machine multiplier (1404) which performs a finite field multiply operation with intrinsic modular reduction and presents a finite field multiplication product to the finite field data unit (1204).

  • Patent number: 6199086
Abstract: An elliptic curve (EC) processor circuit (120) comprising a finite field arithmetic logic unit (122), operation registers (124) an EC control unit (123) and a register file (127). A storage element (250) is coupled to the finite field arithmetic logic unit (122). The EC control unit (123) controls the various components of the EC processor circuit (120) to decompress a compressed one-bit representation of a Y coordinate of an elliptic curve point (X, Y). The EC control unit (123) controls the use of the operation register (124), the storage element (250) and the finite field arithmetic logic unit (122) to recursively compute the decompressed version of the compressed Y coordinate based upon the X coordinate and the compressed one-bit representation of the Y coordinate. The circuit and method employ minimal additional hardware and processing in an EC processor circuit (120).

  • Patent number: 6090155
Abstract: Apparatus and a method are provided for defining visibility boundaries in compiled code of an optimizing compiler used with a digital computer for converting a source program to an object code. The source program is received and a first intermediate representation of the source program is generated. A pseudo operation representing a predetermined event is inserted in the first intermediate representation. Sequential operations of the first intermediate representation including the inserted pseudo operations are processed for defining an internal data structure of the source program. A visibility boundary for a selected variable is identified responsive to identifying a pseudo operation in the first intermediate representation.

  • Patent number: 6009450
Abstract: A finite field inverse circuit has a finite field data unit (1112) and an inverse control unit (1110). The inverse control unit includes (1110) a k.sub.l and k.sub.u decrementer pair (1108, 1122), a k.sub.l -k.sub.u difference unit (1106), an inverse control finite state machine (1102), and a one-bit memory (1104) coupled to the inverse control finite state machine (1102). The finite field data unit (1112) includes four m bit wide registers that are shift registers designated as B (1120), A (1118), M (1114), and C (1116), where B- is a first register, A- is a second register, M- is a irreducible polynomial register, and C- is a field element register. An the irreducible polynomial is loaded left justified in the M-register, a field element to be inverted is loaded left justified in the C-register, and a single "1" is loaded in an LSB bit of the B-register. The field element is then inverted in 2n+2 system clock cycles where n is a field size associated with the field element.

  • Patent number: 5651200
Abstract: The present invention pertains to debris exclusion devices designed for use on a small augerhead type hydraulic dredge system for operations in debris laden channels that can cause the system's pump to malfunction. Debris to be excluded by these devices include portions of trees, woody-stemmed plants, pieces of lumber, pieces of metal or even unexploded ordinance. A first embodiment comprises vertical grates with curved front surfaces mounted in front of a spoils inlet of a dredgehead shroud with cooperating cutter assembly attached to the auger. These grates are spaced to allow passage of spoils and small debris, but not larger injurious debris that is detrimental to the system's pump. A second embodiment is a tapered transition box device attached to the augerhead's shroud disposed between the grates of a spoils inlet leading through these grates and a hose feeding the system's pump. The box is a clean-out device which is self-regulated and also maintains smooth transitional flow to the system's pump.
