  • Patent number: 12585483
Abstract: Examples described herein relate to a centralized workflow management system (CWMS) and a method for managing the deployment and migration of virtual computing instances along a manufacturing line. The manufacturing line hosts a plurality of computing devices such as a first computing device and a second computing device to control operations performed by respective machines. To manufacture a first product, a first orchestration manager hosted in the CWMS deploys a first virtualized computing instance on the first computing device associated with a first stage of a first product manufacturing workflow. Further, upon the first product completing the first stage of the first product manufacturing workflow, the first orchestration manager migrates the first virtualized computing instance from the first computing device to a second computing device associated with a second stage of the first product manufacturing workflow.

  • Publication number: 20250291630
Abstract: Examples described herein relate to a workload scheduler for deploying a workload in a private cloud. The workload scheduler receives a request to deploy a workload specifying a workflow to be executed. The workload scheduler then identifies a set of pre-deployed configurations based on one or more pre-deployed workloads and an identity of the workflow. Then, the workload scheduler recommends a target configuration from the set of pre-deployed configurations, and deploys the workload with the target configuration in the private cloud.

  • Publication number: 20240256353
Abstract: Examples described herein relate to a workload scheduler for deploying a workload in a private cloud. Responsive to determining that the private cloud has insufficient resources to host a pending workload, the workload scheduler may determine whether the private cloud comprises a preemptible workload based on infrastructure group metadata tags assigned to the already-deployed workloads. Further, the workload scheduler may preempt the preemptible workload from the private cloud upon determining that the private cloud comprises the preemptible workload. Then, the workload scheduler may deploy the pending workload in the private cloud.
