  • Patent number: 5129641
Abstract: A method and apparatus for delivering cards or like paper stock fed singly from a stack of the cards to a demand location for dispensing in sequence, in which each card fed from the stack is advanced through a plurality of stages of a conveyor, each stage being independently operable, each stage and all preceding stages and the stack feeder being actuable when no card is present at that stage, the leading stage being also operable to deliver a card on demand, the cards being feed at a higher rate than the dispensing rate.

  • Patent number: 5061519
Abstract: A patterned gluing apparatus and method. The apparatus comprises a rotatable shaft supporting a plurality of glue nozzles arrangeable in different configurations about its periphery. The shaft has a hollow portion and holes communicating with the glue nozzles so that glue may be fed to the nozzles. The shaft is supported above an article conveyor so that the glue nozzles contact articles under the shaft as they are rotated past. The glue nozzles have depressable ball bearings closing off their tips so that they dispense glue on contact with an article. A controller monitors the position of the articles on the conveyor and controls rotation of the shaft so that lines and dots of glue are dispensed to programmed locations on the articles.

  • Patent number: 4903600
Abstract: An in-line array of product dispensers overlie a conveyor belt. An ink jet printer overlies the conveyor belt downstream of the product dispensers. Information identifying the product dispensers which hold the desired products for a particular set and the desired number of sets of that type are entered to a controller operatively associated with the product dispensers and the printer. The controller times the dispensing of products from the selected product dispensers so as to form imbricated sets of products on the conveyor belt. As the products in the imbricated set pass under the printer, the controller activates it to print desired information on the exposed portion of each product.

  • Patent number: 4651983
Abstract: A method and a device for controlling the issuance of cards or like paper stock singly from a card feeder having a friction wheel which is positioned above a movable platform to feed the cards singly from the bottom of a stock. The friction wheel is rotated sequentially through preselectable arcs, intermittently if desired, whereby the issuing cards are optimally spaced apart. An auxiliary feed mechanism operating at a preselected speed and intermittently if desired may assist feeding the bottom cards of the stack as they are moved towards the nip between the friction wheel and the feeder platform. An advancer mechanism may assist movement of the stack towards the feeder platform, the stack advancer being movable sequentially at a preselected amount and preferably intermittently.
