John Louis Kotos has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Publication number: 20130247288
Abstract: An electrically conductive protective garment ensemble worn as an electric stun device misuse countermeasure comprising a variety of clothing articles made from metal coated fabrics with each individual clothing article selectively fastened to another in a manner as to ensure electrical continuity throughout the garment ensemble and to an electrical ground. An electric stun device will be effectively short circuited to itself and/or to an electrical ground when the stun voltage is applied to the garment ensemble and be rendered inoperable.

  • Patent number: 8526160
Abstract: An electrically insulated covering applied to specific parts of electric stun device darts that will negate the protective properties of electrically conductive garments designed to nullify the debilitating effects of electric stun devices and rendering such devices inoperable thus protecting the electric circuitry of the and permitting proper operation of the electric stun device.

  • Publication number: 20120255429
Abstract: An electrically conductive apron and a removable ground strap worn as an electric stun device misuse countermeasure made from metal coated fabrics, that effectively short circuits the electric stun device to itself and/or to an electrically ground floor when the stun voltage is applied to the electrically conductive apron. The electrically conductive apron is lightweight, does not decrease mobility, readily concealable, can be worn under or over street clothes, has an option of padding elements and is easily manufactured.

  • Patent number: 8144250
Abstract: A microcontroller-based video AGC/sync regulator in which the parameters of various synchronizing signals of several different video formats are incorporated into a user program to generate signals to be processed by other sub circuits that correct and reinforce the AGC levels and sync signals of an incoming video signal is disclosed. The microcontroller-based video AGC/sync regulator is synchronized by the selection and isolation of a reference point of particular qualities that distinguishes itself from any other portion of the video signal. The reference points may be singular or plural in nature and are extracted from the video signal by means of a hybrid and specialized circuit or circuits, an auxiliary microcontroller and/or the system microcontroller. The microcontroller-based AGC/sync regulator is readily adapted for use as a decoder/encoder by altering the user program.
