Patent number: 9049405Abstract: A soft proof system includes a display module and a manager. The display module displays a visual representation of a print product, and a color array expressing a tolerance range of a color component of the visual representation and a target color within the range. Via the manager, a visualization function produces the visual representation and the color array according to a soft proof array. A tolerance selection function, associated with the display module, enables selection of the tolerance range for at least a portion of the print product, wherein the selection is expressed on the display in the visual representation and in the color array.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 2012Date of Patent: June 2, 2015Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Ingeborg Tastl, Eric Hoarau, Ehud Chatow, Steven J Simske, John Ludd Recker

Patent number: 8937750Abstract: An exemplary embodiment of the present invention may divide data into a first of set of blocks and a second set of blocks, and data may be stored from non-overlapping frames surrounding the first set of blocks in memory. The data may be grouped from the non-overlapping frames surrounding the second set of blocks, and the data may be absorbed from the non-overlapping frames surrounding the first set of blocks into the second set of blocks. The data may be processed the first set of blocks and the second set of blocks in parallel.Type: GrantFiled: August 2, 2011Date of Patent: January 20, 2015Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Robert Alan Ulichney, John Ludd Recker, Ingeborg Tastl

Patent number: 8493403Abstract: Color transformation sample point identification is described. A subset of points from a superset of points representing a colorimetric relationship is identified. The subset of points defines an initial n-simplex with (n+1) points representing an approximation of the colorimetric relationship, where n represents a number of dimensions. An additional point from the superset of points is selected and added to the subset of points to replace the n-simplex with a set of at least two n-simplices. The additional point is selected such that a volume of an (n+1)-simplex formed by the (n+1) points of the initial n-simplex and the additional point is increased. An error value for the approximation is determined by calculating an error volume between the (n+1)-simplex and the superset of points.Type: GrantFiled: September 4, 2009Date of Patent: July 23, 2013Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Ingeborg Tastl, John Ludd Recker, Yao Zhang

Patent number: 8200782Abstract: An embodiment of a synchronizer for a mobile device comprises memory for containing identification data and message data. The synchronizer is operative at least part of the time when the mobile device is inactive to establish communication with a base station, to provide from memory identification data enabling the base station to establish communication between the synchronizer and a server and, where message data is waiting to be transferred between the server and the mobile device, to enable transfer of message data waiting to be transferred. The synchronizer is operative when the mobile device is active to transfer message data between the mobile device and the memory of the synchronizer.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 2005Date of Patent: June 12, 2012Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Salil Vijaykumar Pradhan, Craig Peter Sayers, John Ludd Recker, Alan Andrew McReynolds

Publication number: 20100070593Abstract: In a computerized method of visualizing features of messages communicated between a first user and a plurality of other users, a topic is identified and a visualization based upon messages containing at least one of the topic and a resource related to the topic is created. More particularly, the visualization is created to include at least one of user graphical representations and message graphical representations, and a resource graphical representation, such that, a user may easily identify features of the messages.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 18, 2008Publication date: March 18, 2010Inventors: Craig Peter Sayers, Tyler J.
