  • Publication number: 20050265024
Abstract: A diode light source for theatrical and architectural lighting has a number of separate, flat, rigid panels for mounting light-emitting diodes. These emit diode light beams to a common focal area. A group of the diodes is mounted on each panel, and each panel has an inner and outer panel. A screw arrangement selectively positions the panels, with each oriented at a selected angle relative to an axis, and with each diodes group emitting diode light beams transverse to each separate panel. Each inner panel is flexibly secured to the screw arrangement. The panels hold the diodes and act as electrical circuit boards for transmitting direct electrical current to the diodes on the panels. The screw includes an elongated, externally threaded cylinder with opposed inner and outer ends that is rotatably aligned with the axis and mounted on a corresponding internally cylindrical threaded nut.

  • Publication number: 20050198673
Abstract: A satellite TV security system including a TV satellite operated by a satellite TV provider directed to a television set of a satellite TV subscriber that defends the satellite TV provider from illegal reception of TV signals from a TV satellite. An addressable integrated receiver/decoder (IRD) positioned in the TV set top box has an assigned identification number and a smart card positioned in the IRD has an assigned identification number. A security module is provided that is integrated with the IRD. Upon command of the satellite TV provider or automatically, the security module makes a periodic verification of a match of the two identification numbers. Lack of verification of a match triggers a signal from the security module to the IRD to stop transmitting TV signals to the subscriber television. As an alternative verification, the security module initiates periodic verifications of the operability of the telephone line connection between the satellite TV provider and the IRD of the subscriber.

  • Publication number: 20050169015
Abstract: A LED luminaire track lighting system includes an elongate track, having a number of longitudinal guideways, for attachment to a support surface, as well as a number of current conductors arranged within at least some of the guideways. The first of these conductors are power conductors and the second conductors are data conductors, the conductors being electrically isolated from each other. The lighting system further contains a first adapter for connection to a source of electrical power for the power conductors, and a second adapter for connection to a source of control data for application of data to the data conductors. There is at least one LED color-changing luminaire present in the system, and this luminaire contains a number of LEDs, each of which, when energized, generates a single color out of a discrete plurality of colors. A data converter converts data along the data lines to control the currents in the individual groups of color LEDs so that they create a desired composite color.
