  • Publication number: 20230417511
Abstract: An armor system can include a carrier configured to be donned into a worn position on a torso of a wearer. The carrier can include a front panel configured to be positioned along an anterior of the torso in the worn position. The carrier can further include a rear panel configured to be positioned along a posterior of the torso in the worn position. The armor system can further include an armor pouch attached or attachable by at least one strap to the carrier so as to be reconfigurable by overhead movement between (i) a loading configuration in which the armor pouch is suspended by the strap and hanging along and exterior to the front panel, and (ii) a protection configuration in which the armor pouch is suspended by the strap and is overlaying an exterior portion of the rear panel.

  • Patent number: 11408104
Abstract: An aspect of the disclosure is a footwear article. The footwear article includes a double layer knitted upper having a foot bed, an upper portion continuous with the foot bed, an ankle opening, and an inner void for receiving a foot of a wearer. The double layer knitted upper has an outer knit layer defining an exterior surface of the double layer knitted upper. The double layer knitted upper also has an inner knit layer monolithically knit to the outer knit layer. The inner knit layer has a plurality of inner knit regions that spatially correspond to the plurality of outer knit regions of the outer knit layer. The outer knit layer and the inner knit layer substantially define the foot bed and the upper portion of the double layer knitted upper.

  • Publication number: 20200214402
Abstract: A fastening element may comprise a first panel and the second panel. The first panel may have a first longitudinal edge and the second panel may have a second longitudinal edge. The second longitudinal edge may be spaced from the first longitudinal edge to form a curvilinear gap. The fastening element may comprise a fastening mechanism coupled to the first longitudinal edge using an adhesive. The fastening mechanism may comprise a zipper tape and a plurality of teeth. The zipper tape may be configured by applying the adhesive on at least a portion of the zipper tape and cutting through the adhesive and zipper tape to define a plurality of cut-outs in the zipper tape.

  • Publication number: 20200139689
Abstract: Disclosed is a textile comprising a woven fabric and a layer of a low emissivity material disposed on the woven fabric, wherein the layer of low emissivity material is vapor deposited. The woven fabric has a yarn size of no greater than 30D and a weight no greater than 55 gsm. At least one coating layer vapor may be deposited adjacent the low emissivity layer. The woven fabric may comprise one or more of a nylon or a polyester. The textile may exhibit an increase in insulation ability of at least 10% compared to a substantially similar woven fabric in the absence of the low emissivity layer when tested together with a fibrous sheet insulation and another untreated woven fabric in accordance with ASTM-F1868 Part A.

  • Patent number: 10595595
Abstract: Woven and knit substrates having juxtaposed notches with finished edges are disclosed. Such substrates can be used as opposed fastener tapes and fastener elements can be formed, woven, or otherwise added to the opposed fastener tapes in a known fashion. The notched fastener tapes permit the resulting slide fastener to be curved in-plane without buckling either of the opposed the fastener tapes out-of-plane. The finished edges maintain structural integrity of the woven or knit substrates, in stark context to prior art substrates having cut notches. Also disclosed are panelized substrates having curved apertures and incorporating disclosed slide fasteners.

  • Patent number: 10098440
Abstract: According to a first aspect, load-bearing systems can have one or more serpentine tensioners. According to another aspect, load-bearing systems can have one or more repositionable load-bearing members. Load-bearing systems having serpentine tensioners and load-bearing systems having repositionable load-bearing members are not mutually exclusive of each other. Accordingly, some disclosed load-bearing systems have a serpentine tensioner in combination with a repositionable load-bearing member. To facilitate disclosure of such principles, wearable packs incorporating one or more aspects of innovative load-bearing systems are described.
