  • Patent number: 5290184
Abstract: A flying disc with two lights located on or near the disk's perimeter, with two symmetrically opposed housings on the underside of the disk near the disk's outmost edge. The two housings store the batteries and the electrical components for illuminating the disk. The housings are placed on opposite sides of the disk, so that the bulk of the disk's weight is on the disk's outside edge. Aerodynamic stability in a flying disk is optimum when the bulk of the disk's weight is distributed on it's outside edge. Thus, the present invention has greater stability when set in rotational motion than existing disks which house electronic components and batteries in the center.

  • Patent number: 5032098
Abstract: An illuminated flying disk includes a plurality of light emitters mounted in a flying disk toy as well as a control circuit mounted in a centrally disposed circuit housing on the underside of the disk. A cap for the control circuit housing is rotatable to provide a simple yet rugged switch for selectively supplying power to the light emitters.

  • Patent number: 4681405
Abstract: A method and anamorphic viewing lens is disclosed for producing a wide angle television or other CRT screen display, which display is expanded along the horizontal axis to allow increased visual information content or to change the aspect ratio for television viewing of wide screen motion pictures. The method includes the step of producing a width-compressed record of a field of visual features, displaying the width-compressed video record on a television or other CRT screen, which display is viewed through a single axis anamorphic viewing lens according to the invention to produce a width-expanded image of the television screen displayed record. The width-compressed video record is produced in several ways including filming a scene through an anamorphic lens system; recording the scene through a second reverse geometric version of the anamorphic lens according to the present invention; or by electronic processing of the video signal data.

  • Patent number: 4576585
Abstract: A toy figure with a head having a substantially rigid outer surface of a first appearance is covered by a relatively flexible outer mask having a second appearance which is self-supporting in normal atmospheric pressure. The mask is secured in substantially airtight relationship covering, but spaced from, the outer surface of the head. Reduction of the pressure in the space between the outer surface of the head and the mask by a pump collapses the mask and conforms its appearance to the first appearance of the outer surface of the underlying head. Both the interior of the mask and the outer surface of the head are provided with approximately the same surface area. Upper and lower portions of the torso of the figure are slidingly separable to operate a piston pump to reduce the pressure in the space between the head and the mask.
