  • Publication number: 20240099163
Abstract: Techniques for sidewall passivation and removal of redeposited materials and processing damage from phase change memory materials are provided. In one aspect, a phase change memory device includes: one or more phase change memory cells, where each of the phase change memory cells includes a phase change material between a bottom electrode and a top electrode; and a carbon and oxygen-containing passivation layer on sidewalls of the phase change material. An ovonic threshold switch can also be present between the bottom and top electrodes, in series with the phase change material, and the carbon and oxygen-containing passivation layer can also be present on sidewalls of the ovonic threshold switch. A method of fabricating the present phase change memory devices is also provided.

  • Patent number: 11911039
Abstract: A surgical stapler instrument includes a stapling head assembly that receives a plurality of staples. The staples are configured with features that allow the staples to expand after deployment so that an anastomosis created by the instrument can increase in size after forming. In some versions the staples expand automatically after deployment, and in other versions the staples expand in response to tissue forces imparted upon the staples after deployment. In some versions the staples are configured to be deployed in various patterns that promote expandability of the circular staple line.

  • Patent number: 4997961
Abstract: Anthralin analogues containing a thio-substituent, especially in one or more of the positions 2-, 7- and 10- of the anthralin ring. They may be made by reacting an anthralin derivative (e.g. 10-bromoanthralin) with a thiol or a compound containing a group convertible to a thio-group. Alternatively, a 1,8-dihydroxy anthraquinone containing a thio-substituent may be reduced. Reactive intermediates may be made by introducing one or more nuclear allylic groups into a 1,8-dihydroxy anthraquinone and then converting them into a reactive form, e.g. by epoxydation or halide addition. The intermediate can then be reduced to the oxidation state corresponding to anthralin.Additional compounds, having the 10-carbon atom of the anthralin ring as part of a heterocyclic ring, may be made by oxidising anthralins containing various substituted thioalkyl groups as the 10-substituent.

  • Patent number: 4105503
Abstract: Control of emission from coke ovens during charging. A bank of coke ovens is provided with two gas mains. The first of the gas mains is connected to each of the individual ovens in turn during charging. The second of the gas mains is connected to the bank of ovens during coking. A fluid energized venturi ejector maintains a predetermined level of vacuum at the head of each individual coke oven during charging. Means are provided to automatically reduce the suction provided by the ejector if the level of vacuum exceeds said limit. This means consists of a valve operated by changes in the level of vacuum at the head of the individual oven during charging. The valve connects the second main to the first, thus increasing the gas pressure applied at the throat of the venturi ejector in turn decreasing the degree of vacuum provided by the venturi ejector. The energy for the ejector may be provided by flushing liquor or by a compressible fluid such as steam, air or an inert gas.
