  • Patent number: 5215568
Abstract: This disclosure describes new 5-oximio-2-(2-imidazolin-2-yl) pyridines having the following structure: ##STR1## wherein Y is hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 branched or unbranched alkyl optionally substituted with C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkylthiol, halogen, CO.sub.2 R.sub.4, CN, NHCOR.sub.5, OCOR.sub.4, furyl or a phenyl group optionally substituted with one or two halogens, C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 alkyl or nitro, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkenyl optionally substituted with halogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy, or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkynyl; and Z is hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl. The disclosure further describes the unique method of using the compounds as herbicidal agents and the methods for their preparation.
