  • Publication number: 20200231756
Abstract: A method for preparing a product includes combining starting materials including A) a siloxane oligomer having silicon bonded hydrogen atoms, B) an alkoxysilane having at least one aliphatically unsaturated group capable of undergoing hydrosilylation reaction and C) an iridium complex catalyst. The method can be used to produce a compound of formula (I). This compound can be used in a hydrosilylation reaction with a vinyl-functional polyorganosiloxane. The resulting product includes an ethyltrimethoxysilyl functional polyorganosiloxane useful in condensation reaction curable sealant compositions.
    Type: Application
    Filed: June 26, 2018
    Publication date: July 23, 2020
Inventors: John M Gohndrone, Matthew Olsen, Xiaoyuan Zhou, William Johnson, Christine Marchand

Abstract: A method for preparing a product includes combining starting materials including A) a siloxane oligomer having silicon bonded hydrogen atoms, B) an alkoxysilane having at least one aliphatically unsaturated group capable of undergoing hydrosilylation reaction and C) a cobalt catalyst.

  • Patent number: 5545743
Abstract: An improved process for the heat-fractionation of a mixture comprising an organosilane and a borane or borane forming compound. The improvement comprises the presence of a tertiary organoamine or tertiary phosphorous compound at a concentration sufficient to reduce modification of the organosilane during the heat-fractionation process.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 2, 1995
Date of Patent: August 13, 1996
    Assignee: Dow Corning Corporation
Inventors: John P. Cannady, John M. Gohndrone, Ming-Shin Tzou
  • Patent number: 5118829
Abstract: The present invention is a process for substituting cycloalkyl substituents for a silicon bound hydrogen of a silane. The process employs a preformed organoborane compound as a catalyst to increase the apparent rate of the reaction and to increase the yield of desired cycloalkylsilanes.
