  • Publication number: 20240168500
Abstract: A flow control device is disclosed. The flow control device includes a solenoid, the solenoid including an armature. Also, a piston connected to the armature. The piston includes a primary orifice. The piston having an open position and a closed position. A piston spring connected to the piston is also includes and at least one secondary orifice. The movement of the piston to the open position at least partially opens the at least one secondary orifice and the movement of the piston to the closed position at least partially closes the at least one secondary orifice. The movement of the armature actuates the piston movement and controls fluid flow from the primary orifice through the at least one secondary orifice.

  • Patent number: 11964126
Abstract: A wearable infusion pump assembly includes a reservoir for receiving an infusible fluid, and an external infusion set configured to deliver the infusible fluid to a user. A fluid delivery system is configured to deliver the infusible fluid from the reservoir to the external infusion set. The fluid delivery system includes a volume sensor assembly, and a pump assembly for extracting a quantity of infusible fluid from the reservoir and providing the quantity of infusible fluid to the volume sensor assembly. The volume sensor assembly is configured to determine the volume of at least a portion of the quantity of fluid. The fluid delivery system further includes at least one optical sensor assembly configured to sense the movement of the pump assembly, a first valve assembly configured to selectively isolate the pump assembly from the reservoir, and a second valve assembly configured to selectively isolate the volume sensor assembly from the external infusion set.

  • Publication number: 20240108819
Abstract: A system is disclosed. The system includes a fill adapter device including a heat exchanger which includes a heating element and a fluid pathway, the fluid pathway fluidly connected to a filling needle input, whereby fluid enters the heat exchanger through the filling needle input and flows through the fluid pathway and whereby the fluid is heated by the heating element. The system also includes a reservoir including a plunger and a plunger rod and a filling needle configured to be removably attached to the reservoir, wherein the fill adapter is configured to be attached to a vial of fluid and wherein fluid from the vial flows through the fluid pathway and is heated and loaded into the reservoir through the filling needle.

  • Patent number: 7178791
Abstract: A hinge assembly is described which can be assembled by snapping together moldable half-cap pieces about the end of a baluster pierced through by a hole. The baluster turns about spindles formed by the half-caps. The half-caps may be fixed together by press-fit mating surfaces and may be placed within a mating groove defined by a hand rail or shoe rail. The half-cap pieces and the hole are not readily apparent in a finished staircase containing the hinge assembly. The hinge assembly successfully employs pin top balusters, as well as rectangular balusters. Alternatively, a hinge assembly is described which can be inserted into the bore of an end-bored bluster, fastened to the inside of the bore, and pivotally attached to a flange suitable for attachment to a rail. The hinge assembly requires no external modification to the normally exposed surfaces of the baluster. The flange includes an H-shaped foot which may be concealed in a groove defined by a hand rail or a shoe rail.

The hinge assembly requires no external modification to the normally exposed surfaces of the baluster. The flange includes an H-shaped foot which may be concealed in a groove defined by a hand rail or a shoe rail. The pivot point is raised slightly above the inner surface of the groove to prevent any unsightly gap, termed “bird's' mouth” in the industry, adjacent the baluster.

  • Patent number: 4600044
Abstract: A method and apparatus for joining fittings, particularly wooden stair rail fittings. The apparatus includes a mitre jig and a double slot jig. The mitre jig has a base with a curved bed for supporting the fitting to be cut. A wall is used with the base that has on it a scale for indicating the angle of incline of the stair being worked with. A recess in the wall accommodates a saw and a slot in the wall receives the saw blade. The fitting is placed on the base with its seam aligned with the particular indication for the stair's angle of incline. A saw is then used to cut the fitting. The double slot jig is used to cut slots into the ends of fittings for joining them. The double slot jig has a base, a tray, a double-bladed cutting apparatus, and a frame. The tray supports the fitting to be cut and is movable on the base. Appropriate stops are used to correctly position the fitting on the base and to limit the movement of the tray on the base. A drill with double circular blades can be used.
