  • Patent number: 8768978
Abstract: A method for modifying an original data object in a database using a single command is disclosed. The single command is first validated. Once the command has been validated a ghost data object is created using the new definition. The ghost data object is populated with data from the original object. The transaction log records from the original data object are applied to the ghost data object. The original data object is then locked for exclusive access. The final transaction log records from the original data object are applied to the ghost data object. In the final step the database switches to the new data object. Dependent objects are automatically transformed as part of the same operation.

  • Patent number: 6019740
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a complete body strengthening and stretching apparatus which relies on passive motion provided by a drive mechanism to direct the movement of the back, legs, arms and torso. The apparatus may include a support frame including a base adapted to rest on a floor and provided with a body support for supporting the user in a seated position. In the preferred embodiments, the support frame may include a back rest and seat, or further a body rest and a leg support surface for supporting and working of the lower body. An exercise bar is positioned in conjunction with the frame and is grippable by the user for stretching and exercising the upper body by means of movement of the exercise bar. A linear actuator is coupled to the frame and operates to cause movement of the exercise bar for imparting passive motion to the arms and upper body of the user.

  • Patent number: 4202264
Abstract: An improvement to the hydraulic power apparatus for hydraulic presses is provided, wherein the seals and various gaskets for containing the hydraulic fluid in the press has an enclosed container substituted therefor. This enclosed container, in communication with hydraulic fluid reservoirs, provides the pressure for the ram in the hydraulic press. The container is inflatable with the pressure on the hydraulic fluid, but which fluid is never in direct contact with any of the structural mechanisms comprising the hydraulic power apparatus. The hydraulic power apparatus, hence, can be modified to increase the dimension of the ram to remove the gasket mechanisms and to provide an installation hatch which facilitates serviceability to the inflatable container.
