  • Patent number: 5611425
Abstract: A carrier for a plurality of objects arranged in at least two rows includes substantially parallel first and second side walls, substantially parallel first and second end walls interconnecting the side walls, a medial panel extending between and connected to the first and second end walls, the medial panel being disposed between and substantially parallel to the first and second side walls, a primary bottom wall connected and extending between lower portions of said first and second side walls, and a lock for maintaining the carrier in an erect condition, the lock including a lock body connected to a lower edge of the medial panel and depending downwardly therefrom, a first retention tab disposed along a first side edge of the lock body spaced from the medial panel, and a second retention tab disposed along a second side edge of the lock body spaced from the medial panel, whereby the first and second retention tabs define a retention width for the lock extending between the outermost portions of the first an

  • Patent number: 5579904
Abstract: A carrier for a plurality of objects arranged in at least two rows includes a reinforced handle and is formed from first and second side walls, first and second end walls interconnecting the side walls, and a medial panel extending between and connected to the first and second end walls, the medial panel being disposed between the first and second side walls. A primary bottom wall is connected and extends between lower portions of the first and second side walls. The handle includes a handle opening defined in the medial panel, first and second outer handle panels foldably connected at a first end edge thereof to a side edge of the medial panel and extending across the medial panel, and first and second handle reinforcing panels foldably connected at a first end edge thereof to second end edges of the first and second outer handle panels, respectively, and extending across the medial panel.

  • Patent number: 5328080
Abstract: A panel-interlocking arrangement for first and second panels overlapping each other, includes locking and retaining tabs struck respectively from the first and second panels, and a biasing tab struck in part from a corner of the retaining tab. The locking tab is foldably joined at its trailing end edge to the first panel and extends along a notional line to its leading end edge. The locking tab has opposite side edges extending between the leading and trailing end edges and a lateral projection protruding from one of the side edges. The retaining tab is foldably joined to the second panel and defines at least a part of a locking aperture in the second panel. The biasing tab is foldably joined to the second panel along a transverse edge of the locking aperture and projects from the transverse edge in the direction parallel to the notional line.

  • Patent number: 4919269
Abstract: A multiple compartment, separable container includes a common top wall, with outer side walls connected to each side edge of the top wall. A bottom wall is connected to each outer side wall, with an inner side and a lap panel connected in turn. Each lap panel is secured in underlying fashion to the top wall, with the inner side walls in face-to-face relationship. A beveled end panel is connected to each end of the inner side walls. A minor end panel is connected to each of the beveled end panels. Lower end panels are connected to the bottom walls, with an upper end panel connected to each end of the top wall. A web structure interconnects each minor end panel with the adjacent end panels and lap panels. A tear strip defined by a pair of parallel, perforated tear lines extends across the top wall and across each upper end panel. Each tear line overlies one lap panel between the free edge of the lap panel and the connections between the lap panel and web structures.

  • Patent number: 4588084
Abstract: A bottle carrier having foldably connected bottom and side walls is provided with a composite top wall formed of inner and outer overlapping panels foldably joined respectively to the upper edges of opposite side walls, portions of the overlapping face contacting surfaces of the inner and outer overlapping panels being secured together by glue while other portions of such overlapping surfaces are coated with a bond inhibiting substance such as varnish so as to facilitate delamination of such coated areas thereby to facilitate removal of a tear out section including parts of the composite top wall and upper portions of the side walls so as to facilitate use of the carrier as a container for returnable bottles, and the ends of the carrier being closed by closure structure including end flaps foldably joined to each end of the bottom side and top walls and folded inwardly.
