Patent number: 8356721Abstract: A spring retention device particularly well suited to use on railcars. The spring retention device has first and second fingers that oppose each other at inclined interior surfaces to define an opening. The interior surfaces overlap and are inclined relative to opposed substantially parallel and planar surfaces with which the first finger is substantially aligned between aside from its terminal end which is bent so the first finger extends outwardly from the first planar surface. The opening terminates in an enlarged portion that has an interior surface defining the perimeter of the enlarged portion. The interior surface of the enlarged portion is substantially perpendicular to the planar surfaces. Springs having eyes that have their wire bent in substantially the same plane may be inserted through the opening, then when turned to align with the enlarged portion, the spring contained therein will be prevented from backing out of the opening.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 2011Date of Patent: January 22, 2013Assignee: Jackson International, Inc.Inventor: John M. Patent number: 7686177Abstract: An improved lever assembly for uncoupling railroad cars having a coupler that includes a lock lifter. The lever assembly has a handle on one end that is pivotally connected to the railcar and a hook located at the other end of the lever assembly that is connected to the lock lifter. The assembly has levers that slide relative to each other. The levers are held adjacent to each other by enclosures through which the levers slide. The enclosures contain U-shaped glides held stationary relative to the enclosures. Typically made of plastic, the glides provide low friction sliding contact with levers sliding through them. The glides are longitudinally shorter than their containing enclosures providing protection from ultraviolet light.Type: GrantFiled: February 25, 2008Date of Patent: March 30, 2010Assignee: Jackson International, Inc.Inventor: John M. Publication number: 20080270178Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product are provided for an improved inventory management system. The system supports a medical service provider by interfacing an inventory management application with a database of electronic medical records. In one embodiment, a single graphical user interface interfaces the inventory management application with the database of electronic medical records, thus providing a simplified, transparent solution as compared to the separate, independent, and non-interfaced systems currently available. By interfacing the inventory management application with the database of electronic medical records, inventory accuracy may be increased and processing times may be decreased.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 31, 2007Publication date: October 30, 2008Inventors: Kristen McRae, John M. Jackson, Jennie L. Smith, Bret Brodowy, Regina Leung

Patent number: 4909917Abstract: An apparatus for electro-coating disc-like workpieces (can ends for food cans) comprises an electrolyte tank and a carrier wheel mounted for rotation with one third of its periphery in the electrolyte. The wheel carries equi-spaced pallets, each defining a pocket for holding a workpiece with its periphery in good electrical contact with the pallet while the pallet is carried by the wheel through the electrolyte adjacent a counter electrode. Energisation of the pallets is achieved by sliprings each having three conductive segments connected to respective pallets spaced equally around the wheel. Adjacent segments in adjacent sliprings are staggered for sequential energisation of the pallets while submerged in the electrolyte. Electrical control means (a) test for the presence of a workpiece in a pocket, and for the degree of workpiece contact with its pocket, and (b) control the electric current passing to each separate pallet.Type: GrantFiled: May 15, 1989Date of Patent: March 20, 1990Assignee: CMP Packaging (UK) LimitedInventors: Robert H. Patent number: RE31203Abstract: Apparatus for cleaning open-mouthed cylindrical containers has a plurality of pot assemblies mounted on a turntable rotatable to move each pot assembly past an unloading station for discharge of containers from the pot assemblies and a loading station for insertion of containers into the pot assemblies. Each pot assembly comprises a body co-operating with a lid to define a cavity for reception of a container, the cavity having a shape corresponding approximately to that of the container and having a size such that the container subdivides the cavity into two chambers in which the walls of the cavity are spaced close to the inside and outside surfaces of the container. Cam rollers on each pot assembly co-operate with cam tracks, upon rotation of the turntable, to open the lid immediately prior to passage past the unloading station and to close the lid immediately after passage past the loading station.Type: GrantFiled: August 2, 1978Date of Patent: April 12, 1983Assignee: Cleamax LimitedInventor: John M.
