  • Patent number: 6218620
Abstract: An elongated waterproof enclosure for spliced telephone cables is provided by a two-part molded resinous housing that provides openings for one or more cables at opposite ends. A one piece resilient sealing gasket includes longitudinally slitted tubular gaskets at the ends to snugly receive individual cables side by side. The grommets at each end are formed integrally and connected by flat connecting pieces arranged to be transverse to opposed narrow edges of the mating opposed housing portions. The narrow edges when clamped together pinch and seal the flat pieces. Housing ends conforming to the grommets also have opposed narrow edges which, when clamped together, pinch the grommets and provide a seal. The housing pieces are preferably connected along one side by an integral molded hinge offset from the opposed longitudinal edges to give the seal clearance. At the opposite side of the housing, offset from the edges, are rigid flanges molded integrally with the housing parts.

  • Patent number: 4934361
Abstract: Breathing equipment, e.g., a half mask-type respirator, is disclosed. A mask is provided with three ports of common dimension in any one of which inhalation or exhalation fittings housing inhalation or exhalation valves may be mounted. Disclosed are chemical and mechanical filtration cartridges usable alternatively or in combination. Disposable chemical filtration cartridges having novel lock and seal structure are disclosed. Bayonet-type couplings for coupling the filter housings to the inhalation respiratory fittings and an audible device to indicate that the filter housings are properly coupled are disclosed. The respirator valve is a thin umbrella-shaped disk valve having a multiplicity of radiating ribs which biases the valve to the closed position. A novel crown strap suspension is also provided.

  • Patent number: 4908785
Abstract: Vibrational data is compressed about 8.5 to 18 times by isolating a low frequency component from the signal, frequency analyzing the signal to obtain important frequency/amplitude data, and recombining the low frequency component with the analyzed information for efficient transmission.

  • Patent number: 4344646
Abstract: A detachable latch for a container is arranged to snap fit into a latch pocket and operate with minimal or no frictional interference in releasing a projecting bolt member from a closure position wherein it projects through a slot in the container cover. In a first embodiment, the base of the latch member abuts the pocket wall and is restrained from upward displacement by a wing-slot engagement. A retainer blade projects forwardly from the upper half of the latch to a location above a retainer shelf of the container body to preclude downward displacement of the latch. At least one nub projects upwardly from the shelf to provide minimal contact with the underside of the blade if the blade is inadvertently lowered into contact with the shelf. To open the container, the latch is flexed about its base by pushing the upper part of the latch into the pocket, thereby removing the bolt at the top of the latch from the cover slot.

  • Patent number: 4023840
Abstract: A latch assembly for use with a tackle box or other container is disclosed. The latch assembly includes a latch top segment, a latch bottom segment and a receiver, all of which may be manufactured by injection molding. The latch assembly includes the feature that no separate pins or rivets are required either to assemble the components or to attach the latch assembly to the container with which it is employed.

  • Patent number: 4019274
Abstract: A trolling bucket for carrying live bait or the like and adapted to be towed behind a boat comprising a hollow shell, preferably of resilient material with a spring-pressed door normally covering an opening into the interior chamber. Latching means provides for securing the door in an opened position to enable the bucket to be loaded or emptied. Releasing means actuable from the exterior of the shell frees the door from its latching engagement. The releasing means can be a portion of the latching member extending exteriorly of the shell or the door can be released by retracting an extendable handle so that portions of the same slide interiorly of the shell and engage the door.
