    Abstract: Equipment storage apparatus, such as equipment racks and cabinets, according to the invention have a vertical load bearing member with a stepped cross-section. Thus, for example, a load bearing member of a frame according to one aspect of the invention can have two faces on its front: one with a frontward directed normal for accommodating equipment mounts, and one with a frontward directed normal for accommodating front door mounts. A pair of such load bearing members can be provided, along with one or more horizontal cross-pieces or other such structural elements, to form a frame defining a generally rectangular central region in which mounted equipment is disposed.

    Abstract: A machine is disclosed having a frame with a work station adapted to receive a work member, such as a die set. The apparatus includes a turntable pivotally mounted to the frame at a position spaced from the work station. A first and second linear conveyor section are mounted to the turntable and each section has a first end and a second end. The second ends of the conveyor sections are adjacent each other and the conveyor sections extend outwardly on the turntable in a direction substantially perpendicular to each other. An actuator selectively pivots the turntable between a first position in which the first end of the first conveyor section is aligned with the work station, and a second position in which the first end of the second conveyor section is aligned with the work station.

    Abstract: A transceiver (5) for an asymmetric communication system such as asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL) includes a configuration register (71) defining operation at either a central office (CO) or a remote terminal (RT). The configuration register (71) includes a control bit (72) for selecting either CO or RT mode. The transceiver (5) includes a signal processing module (70) configured according to the state of the control bit (72). For example, a digital interface (70) converts transmit data into transmit symbols and converts received symbols into receive data. The digital interface (70) uses a large memory (158) as a buffer in the transmit path and a small memory (160) as a buffer in the receive path in CO mode. In RT mode, the digital interface (70) uses the small memory (160) in the transmit path and the large memory (158) in the receive path. The selective configuration allows a single integrated circuit to be used in both CO and RT equipment.

    Abstract: A processor controlled test set is disclosed for testing special service circuits of a telecommunication system. A microprocessor controls the overall operation of the test set, while a digital signal processor provides high speed timing signals to the various test circuits for generating the wave forms used in testing, as well as analyzes the test result signals that are converted into digital signals. A calibration of the test generator signals as well as the signal measuring path is carried out prior to the test sequence. The digital signal processor also provides gain control over a talking path to maintain stability thereof. An I/O circuit of the test set provides plural communication paths between remote equipment and the test set to initiate and carry out various tests. Processors in the I/O module are effective to convert the various protocols of the serial data, by way of software, to digital bit streams usable by the test set.
